Hey, with help from the forum I started germinating seeds direct in soil (biobizz all mix) and I have tiny sprouts after 4 days with still 1 or 2 to sprout (White widow autos)
My question is do I dome these babies to stop them from burning? Im using a 600w hps light.
How often do I water them and when do I start feeding and how often? All help is welcome!!!!

Congrats on the sproutation (dont think that is a word:stoneslap:).... There are gonna be some different opinions on these questions... What works for me...... I grow in just plain Promix BX, nothing added, I start feeding mine at 8 days old at 1/8 strength with veg nutes and water. I dont put a dome or anything else over my baby, I just let it do its thang:smokebuds: The first couple of days, I just water with a cap full of water and that be it.... Best of luck with your grow:smokeit:

What soil you working with for these babies?

We're using biobizz all mix. Just spraying them at the moment to keep the moist. Ive read that people dont start feeding autos until around 3 weeks depending whats in soil etc.. I am a total auto newb.
Thanks
Tricia

With your 600w HPS I would be careful with the distance from your plants. Keep a good distance, 3 ft for the first week, then slowly bring it down. Feed plain ph water for the first stage of grow, and not too much. Biobizz will provide enough nutrients for the plants for the first 2-3 weeks, then think about nutrient addition. Do some homework yourself before planting in the future, that's my advice dude.

True, there are some soils out there that have enough nutes in it to feed the plants for about 3 weeks. Promix has pretty much nothing in it, so I start at 8 days, which seems to work well for me.....:smokebuds:

You have a good chance of burning the seedling if you have sown the seed straight into the biobizz all mix, if you just make a 4 inch whole in the top of your all mix soil ( about the size and width of a tennis ball) and fill that will a light mix your seedlings will be just fine.

It really depends when you should start feeding. What nutes are you using? I personally dont use a dome and it works great for me, just let them do there thing like stylez said. Best of luck with your grow. Whats yours Rh% like?

I did read that about biobizz n to be fair ive researched as best as I can... but nothing beats a second opinion from people who are actually growing. Call it first time paranoia lol.
My temps n humidity are fine n ill start with the cap full of water tomorrow. Thanks ;) any more advice is muchly welcomed

Hey!
Congrats on your new sprouts!!
Now the fun begins! Be patient, keep them moist but not wet. That was the hardest part for me, patience!
Peace and happy growing!! And some :karma Cloud: to keep ya going!

Some people have problems with Biobizz all mix, but the majority of people find it absolutely fine for seedlings. I start to add nutrient when the third node on the plant are through and we'll into growth.
