They've got a super hard shell right?? Really ugly little fuggers.
They crunch better than they squish ... I'm not sure what they eat, but never been bitten by one - I'm always to fast (like a usain bolt ninja - in panic mode).
edit: But it's probably really called a "green-shield-bug"
Lyka'-- What's up, mate? ....okay, that blurry mass I can't tell for sure, but it looks like an established patch of mealy bugs, or wooly aphids, something like that...pretty mobile as juvie's, so you'll need to have a very close look around, and likely treat most if not all the plant; the funky lookin' bugger is a type of leaf hopper I think,.. does it jump away when you go after it? Sap suckers too, but are roving independents that drop babies here and there, not colony formers.... Pretty easy kills with most any safer type bug product, but thorough spraying of tops and bottoms of leaves is crucial... I'd nail that main patch with alcohol, and wipe it clear first, then treat the plant...
... it was on the fuzz patch, huh? strange,... Nammy posted a timely pic here-- spittle bugs are larval leafhoppers, in fact! --but as you see, they make a (protective) foamy mess typically,....that patch, it's kinda powdery, right? Could be that species does things differently,.... glad to hear there's no other sign of vermins!
