Just gone under 600 hps about 1m away. They are with my first batch that aren’t finished yet. Humidity is 50%

That distance should be fine unless it keeps stretching than move the light down a little.

How do you know if they are stretching? When I put them in their final pots I plan to plant the taller ones a bit deeper.

When they get tall with weak stems like yours thats a sign there reaching for light.If your using the hps they should not be stretching for light and should start showing true leaves and the stem will thicken also.Next time you start seedlings put them under your hps right away but maybe at 36 inches so they don't reach for the light so much and turn spindly.
