What you're looking at is a twenty-three day old plant that just keeled over outta nowhere. Suffice to say I'm sort of in shock and more than a little upset right now.

I haven't made a journal for this plant due to life being absolutely batshit crazy and not having the time or the energy, but here's all the pertinent info:

Strain: AvT from Mephisto
Medium: 100% coco in an Autopot
Nutes: Maxibloom + CaliMagic (5g MB+9ml Cali/gal. @5.8-6.0ph
Lights: Autocobs x 2 @ about 30"

Sprouted in rockwool 3/1, went into coco 3/4. Hand-watered til 3/19
8oz. 1/4 strength nutes 3/5
8oz. 1/2 strength nutes 3/8 - 3/12
16oz. Full strength nutes 3/13 - 3/19
Day One on autopot 3/20 - 1 gallon in res (day 20 for plant)

Fast forward to earlier tonight. I opened the tent to have a look at her and she looks *awesome*. Rich green, popping pistils, all the good stuff. I tucked one leaf to open up a bud site, went to tuck the other side and....she fell forward. I picked her up straight again, and she fell backwards. Tried to pick her up again wondering wtf is happening and she broke off completely, right level with the top of the coco.

I have no freakin' clue what went wrong here so hopefully someone has an idea because I can't have this happen again. I was already gonna be running low on meds by the end of this grow, and now I'm three *more* weeks (at least) behind from having another crop ready.

A pic of the stem end:

Anyone seen this happen with autopots before?

Yep, broke off level with the top of the coco. I've never seen anything like it. Pretty cranky about it too, to be honest.

Could you stick the stem in nuted water, and hope it grows roots?

The time to attempt that is long gone, my bro. We're well over 24 hours later so even if there was a chance there isn't one now, lol.

Anyway, even if it would have - at three weeks those roots are fairly well established and I'd imagine starting from zero isn't gonna give the plant near enough access to nutrients as it needs. I appreciate the comment though and were it a younger plant I might have given it a shot.

Looks like Damping Off disease to me. Not sure but would be my first guess. Caused by fungus or disease on the grow medium. Was this new coco? Certainly strange

You can root it. Do you have cloning gel? rooting hormone? If so I will tell you how to do it. It may take a couple months to finish, but it can be done. You could get several clones off of it, and give that a shot too. They are still in veg, it can go.
