What Def. is This ?

The only thing I've ever watered into my TLO is food for the existing microbes... a little molasses maybe (sugars for energy) or a little kelp (full of micro-nutrients for the microbes). But I use very weak solutions and only toward the end of the grow.
X, I will just stick with this sound advice for now. Maybe, after I get a few grows under my belt I will experiment with guano teas.

I have also added humic acid if my mix starts to get a little too "thick"
.
What do you mean by the mix getting to thick?

There would be very little activity in the infirmary if more members, especially new growers, subscribed to this line of thinking.

TLO can have a tendency to "cake" (when water has an hard time seeping into the mix), due to traits from some of the guanos and amendments. I put gypsum, humic acid, and fulvic acid in my mix before it even cooks, to assist in avoiding this. But, sometimes it still starts to cake up a bit. When this happens, I water a little humic acid into my mix and it fixes it. Caution: A little humic acid goes a long way... follow the mixing instructions on the package. :peace:

Yes I can already see the potential of this happening, even though I did add 30% + perlite as you recommended. As well as humic and fulvic acid to my mix before I began letting it cook.

I am the wrong person to ask that question. But, there is a lot about teas by members very experienced in their use, available in the Organic Forum stickies. Mr Piggy and HeadpiECE have both made excellent contributions. Check out some of their stuff. :peace:

Yes... on the foliar... 1/2 tsp epsom salts to 1 qt of water in a sprayer... cover entire leaf surfaces upper and lower... do this at lights off so you dont get any "light burn" spots.

also on foliar:

and when you really wanna understand plants deep in dpth:

heres another good one:

Thanks jm for the epsom salts to water ratio, as well as the link to foliar feeding.

And, a huge thanks for the links on understanding plants in depth. Which I most certainly want to learn all I can.
I will download the 2 text links onto my Kindle, and start listening to the True Plant Nutrition audio tomorrow.

I am currently reading Marijuana Botany by Robert Connell Clark, and finding it a real page turner for me.

Even though I'm only a couple of months
into my first grow: both indoors and out doors with Autos and some HR 'light sensitive Photos'. I can see that I will pursue learning and doing much with Cannabis for the rest of my life. Also beginning to understand the science of botany is already helping me become a better Organic veggie grower.

Thanks-again for all the information, not only in this thread, but also ALL the invaluable info that you have and continue to post here at AFN.
I read thru the thread you posted on self diagnosing your plants almost daily.
It has help me immensely already.
Obviously if I am not able to self diagnose, or not positive with my extremely limited diagnostic skills, I will not hesitate to ask for help again.

So glad to hear your positive response Stick... its nice to know my help / info is being absorbed and loved as much by others as it is by me. Just make sure that you :fourword: My goal is to teach the world through networking to grow their own food and Doctor themselves (as much as physically possible)as well as medicating themselves. And ultimately, it comes back to nutrition. Yes, Cannabis and botany will suck you in for life! :dance2: It did me too... whirlpool me away I say!!! Suck me down the knowledge pipe! :Dance2:

Anywa... glad to help and share it.. cheers! :smokeit:
