It can be done, but make sure your not drawing too much power on that 1 cord. In the U.S. (15A circuit) I wouldn't put more than 1000w on one cord. All depends on the guage of the cord and what size breaker, ect. Your electrician friends should now basic safety issues. Dion's advice is good.

i dont get it if mars can draw 900w from one cord why wouldn't I 250w ? ballast are on one cord..

He said that you can just be careful of the total amperage. Overdoing an electrical system is very dangerous. The Mars draws a lot less than 900w too

How much I love DIY when im unsure I always ask questions. I have also been out of my comfort zone a few times and wished I had left some things to a professional. dealing with higher voltage disko might be best for your friend who has electrical skill

I will do yo,cos top of my el. skills was wiring ballast, and I was scared as hell that i dont connect something wrong and cause a fire..

he is using 230v not 120 so by default less amps, and running a total wattage of 300 max....so any cable will work
