High all!

I really like autoflowers because they are quick, easy and the smoke is good, but not great... if the smoke was great i would love them...

I have grown and smoked : MI5, Diesel99, Stone dragon, magic dragon, dragon mix and auto diesel mix.

And every strain on that list i really really like the first couple of joints...made me happy, motivated and i felt real good... but with every strain i noticed that afetr maybe 2-3 days of smoking all the good thing about the high was gone and i was just stoned, and i needed more and more to reach the same place and i always get big hangovers when smoked much....

This is not the case with alomost every photo strain i have grown and smoked.... with almost every good photo strain like Super silver haze, ak 48, black widow etc etc the high stay the same day out and day in...week out and week in...and i dont have to up the amout of weed i smoke to get to the smae place.

Whats up with that?

And autos have a silly low ceiling for the high...smoke like two joints and you are as high as you ever will be on that strain....with photos it more like the more i smoke the higher i get and the better i feel....

So...what is "missing" in autos that photos have?

Dont get me wrong, as i said i really like autos but i wanna love them, and i dont....

Love justin

It's nowt to do with Autos bro it's all you I'm afraid lol meaning your tolerance,I smoke a different strain every day to keep the tolerance low. I've grown autos and photos using the same lights, soil and feed and I can say 100% some Autos stronger than photos....take DPs auto White Widow for example that's the second strongest I've grown so it's stronger than DPs Orange Hill Special,MasterKush and Dutch Cheese.

One thing I will recommend if your struggling with strength is Advanced Nutrients Bud Factor X....use it for two weeks before flush and it will stress the plant into producing more Resin and terpenoids.

Naaa bro, im not talking about strenght...im talking about tolerance build up... how do you explaine that i dont get that with photos only with autos...all my friends say the same...the really like it the first few days and then not so much....

Off course it has to do with autos... one shouldent have to change strain every day not to build upp tolerance... i dont have to do that with my photo strain, not at all...

The cannabinoids in Autos are exactly the same as in photos,DP have also done strength tests revealing similar strengths so I 100% don't agree with you here I'm afraid but I've never smoked your weed.

edit. Strength and tolerance are directly linked as it's the strength you build a tolerance to.

Once again bro...im NOT talking about strenght... im talking about the quality of the high, tolerence build up and ceiling of the high...and on thoose 3 points i and all my friends say the same, autos just cut it short.....sureley i can not be the only one here the feel this?

Last year i was smoking super silver haze every day for 3 months and the high was really getting better for every day...90days of smoking every day and no tolerance build up what so ever.... the strongest and best auto ive been smoking is Stone dragon, bur also there i took me just a few days and then i had two smoke two joints to get to the same place that one got me before...

we dont have to agree bro...lol...im just saying....

I don't smoke enough to build a tolerance to it,but I have heard that it happens to people who are heavy smokers. I would bet the farm if you could smoke two joints of my Ctitical Jack and say your not high enough. My opinion is if autos really don't make you happy then stick with photos, don't waste your time on autos.

I think you might be the only one bro I've never heard this tolerance problem before just that autos aren't as strong.

Hey bro, I think you got your answer almost exactly 1 year ago when you posted a similar thread about "no ceiling high auto strains."

Tolerance to a particular strain is more dependent on a persons physiology than on a given strain. One person can smoke the same strain day after day and not experience a tolerance buildup where another person may experience it after a few days. I happen to fall into the later group. If I smoke a given strain for more than about 2-3 days in a row I see a diminished effect from it. So to avoid tolerance I switch strains all the time. Every strain I grow I keep about 1/2 oz. for my own use. Some goes in my ready stash, the rest is vacuum packed for long term storage. Over time I've built a stash of over 40 strains this way, both auto and photo. I rarely smoke the same strain more than 2 straight days and never have issues with tolerance.

Sounds more like a tolerance issue than a problem with autos. I have 15 strains in my jars right now and have had zero complaints from anyone I've helped with "the high," and I know for 100% fact I'm the only one smoking these guys up with autos, and some of these people smoke for medical reasons. :dunno: Also, it sounds like you smoke all day, every day. Do you see the correlation between doing something over and over again and not getting the same results?

Do you have documented grows of your autos here on AFN? How did they turn out? Good growing practices and environment will greatly shape the outcome and quality of the buds you grow. If you need any help, we'd be more than happy to!

Easy guys, lets not start a flaming war.He gave his opinion on autos and if this is how he feels so be it.

I fall in the same category as Muddy. Whether photo or auto, I need to switch things up to keep from building a tolerance. I've got around 14 strains in storage, and I am constantly swapping them out. That's one reason why autos are great for me. I can grow 4 very different strains and have an ounce or more from each for variety, rather than growing a big photo with several ounces of weed that I'm going to burn out on after a while.

I'm with namvet on this one - if autos don't do it for you, stick to photos. Different strokes for different folks.
