Is it what most people think, which is the percentage of thc in the bud including the plant matter and everything?

Is it, as someone on here mentioned not too long ago, the percentage of thc out of all of the cannabinoids? (not a measure of total amount, just percent, excluding plant matter).

People keep saying there are some 30%thc buds, but that would mean that if you had an 1/8th of bud, you would be able to pull about a gram of pure thc out of it and unless it had no other cannabinoids, probably another few tenths of a gram of those as well before you were left with just plant matter... Seems highly unlikely.

Nobody..?

Well, I always went with option 1, but some others' comment's threw me off. And since there are no legal guidlines in most places, advertising could be done almost any way the vendor wanted...

I read somewhere it's the percentage of thc in relation to all cannabinoids, not in plant matter, actually resin.
There is also speculations about different tests putting out different results for same buds, so I think it's a somehow irrelevant piece of data.

My "My 2 cents".

I read about lab testing somewhere...lol, and the % was the THC content of the total extract. even then, the numbers are mostly meaningless. The same plant can have a bud with a 22% THC content, and another even on the same branch may have 11%the only fair measurement would be for a test of the extract of all buds from a plant in one batch. Thats one reason oils and/or edibles give a more consistent effect than smoking/vaping does. I've noticed the difference between one bud and another from the same plant, when smoking

Agreed. Ideally, you would take a bunch of plants from the same strain, and grind up all the buds, and then test that powder since it would be more uniform. Otherwise, you can get a strain that doesnt produce many trichomes at all, but the trichs it does, are full of thc. Extract from those buds would be misleading because the pure trichs would be potent, but you'd need a lot of bud to get a decent amount of them..

depends on how they are tested really.SC Labs uses (forget the name)one that does not use heat unlike several other do to measure compounds.the link I provided explains that somewhere.
