I have insomnia also and what really works is tinctures. They have this brand ( literally the only company I have seen here with it) CBN tinctures. It’s expensive for only 15 doses but literally you knock out in a few mins and have a full restful sleep. You do not wake up high or groggy feeling.
So cbn is the oxidation of thc. I have let some of my buds oxidize and vaped and knock out. If you let your buds oxidize you can get maximum cbn in your tincture. Edibles are my think so I take edibles nightly to go to sleep and it works vs the meds the dr gave me. I am going to make some insomnia oil with my levo machine soon and let some buds just oxidize first. Also if you do make tincture or edibles remember to decarbonize the buds first too.

I have been experimenting with this for a few years with dozens of recipes, and here's the best method I've found:
(1) Decarb herb @ 240 F for 40 min using a verifying thermometer. (Better yet use Ardent Lift)
(2) Grind to fine powder.
At this point the herb is as potent as it will ever be, but might not be digestible enough for maximum effect.
To make it more digestible
(1) Add the herb powder and lecithin (about 1/2 tsp per 100 grams of edible) into some nutella or nut butter.
(2) Cook for 20 minutes @ 220 F.
(3) Freeze, then warm it up.
The mixture can be spread onto crackers. I like Keebler club crackers because they taste good and can be easily split.
For each cracker sandwich, 0.25 g herb plus 4-6 g nutella/nut butter works well.
Best of all, you need not assume that I know what I'm talking about, because you can do this with tiny amounts of herb, such as 1/2 gram.
The lecithin, heating, and freezing make the results a little better, but can be skipped if time is short.

I was searching just like you when I came up with this recipe. You will not believe how good it tastes or how stoned you can get. I have very, very limited experience with rosin so far. So maybe I am wrong about this, but to me its way more potent than vaping/combusting flower or hash. Some might say if you smoke enough flower to equal the amount of THC you just dabbed you'll be just as high, but I don't think is true from what I can tell so far. The accessibility or whatever you call it to the cannabinoids seems much purer and 'there' with rosin to me. So if that applies to rosin based edibles, then A) awesome and B) I will have to take smaller doses to start with. Man, I can't wait to take some very amber Sour Livers and squish that and make some chocolate with it. Night night.

With age, the THC in weed degrades to CBN, which is the sleepiest cannabinoid. So in theory if you store your weed allot longer before extracting you will have more sedative medicine.
Old-school Hashplant was knock-out stuff because even at only 10-15% THC the strain naturally had lots of CBN (and CBD)
Other than that, what are the sleepiest terpines? Linalool and Humulene come to mind right away, but I am sure there are more...
I am tempted to take a 1:1 strain and age it to max CBN. I have no real idea how long that will take, but the goal would be around THC 8, CBD 10, CBN 2. I think that would send even the most seasoned user into dreamland.
What I am not sure of is whether you can "over-decarb" to get the CBN quicker.

Another thought:
Put some additional soporific herbs in your infusion. The first that come to mind are Lemon Balm and Lavender. I have used both in blends for the vaporizer, and they work as tea as well.
Hops, chamomile, passionflower, skullcap and worst smelling(!!) valerian root could be considered.

I have been itching to share my kick-ass tincture process since I joined. I was waiting until I used up my big batch of tincture so I could post a pictorial, but now the only hi-test I can get is dark rum and due to an anticipated small harvest my stash will be a little low for a few months. I just decided to post it anyways, even if I can't demonstrate. Look for something like. Jeez, what should I call it? How about VitaMan's Terpy Tincture. It'll take me a bit of time to write it up but it should be ready in a few days.
