They are to young for nutes yet.First thing is to check your ph and make sure it is correct.Just give them ph water for another two weeks or so.

+1 on just PH'd water till the third set of real leaves form.

What kind of light are you using and how close it it to the seedling?
Length of lighting on/off.

Otherwise she does not look too bad for a week and a half!
Is this your first grow?
If it is you are going to have to learn to relax a bit and not worry so much.
These guys are tough and will bounce back after most forms of abuse!

:peace:

no not my first grow. right now til it gets bigger i have it under a one of the bigger kinds of cfl got it at home depot for ten bucks per bulb. after a couple weeks it goes under a 400 watt mh/hps. ph is fine since it is pro mix brand new outta the bag it should be good on the ph. all water i have given has been ph at 6.5. the baby leaves are already turning yellow though . on the bag of pro mix it says to start feeding after 5 days. thats why i fed it.earth juice is real weak . when they get bigger i go to flora series by gh. oh well i guess it is ok just dont know why it is so droopy. light isnt hot to the back of my hand and is about 6 inches away from it.

No nutes for seedlings! But I've had droopy looking seedlings that were fine before, can't really tell if you actually Have a problem or not yet from the pics.

mazar seedlings are greedy!

i went against all of the advice given and fed the seedling again! this feeding i saw alot of improvment!!!!!!!! i am so happy! the baby was just hungry. i am not really new to growing. been doing it over a year and a half but never had a seedling that needed food so early on. the mi5 is another good eater. they both took a feeding of 260ppm of flora series. the mazar can take alot more but i did see alot of improvment. she is better color and not sagging as much. have to wait a couple days til i can give her more. just wanted to let u guys know that all seedling are not alike n apparently some do need food especially if grown in straight pro mix w/o amendments.

Hey Sparky, good to see you. Yes, when using straight Pro Mix you often have to feed by around day 10 - 12. Even though Pro Mix does have starter nutes, they don't seem to be sufficient for auto seedlings. I often see the same thing happen to mine and usually give them a light 1/4 strength feeding on their 2nd or 3rd watering. I also keep a spray bottle handy with a mix of 1 part household ammonia to 10 parts water. If I see their color getting a bit light I'll give them a spritz with that solution, usually just once is all that's needed. I'd also suggest you drop the pH of your feeds a bit lower, to around 6.2. Pro Mix is usually right around 6.9 - 7 right out of the bag. Feeding at the lower pH will bring the pH of the soil down to a good level by the time they start flowering.

hey muddy i put this in the new growers forum cause i was hoping u would see it first. i didnt know about the ammonia trick. i had to feed it again ! i hated to but she ate the 260 ppm like it was nothing but i saw some improvment. i went to the second week feeding of the flora n did half strength which is how the mi5 likes her's. the mazar started yellowing n sagging after 5 days in pro mix! little pig! i am glad i did feed it cause someone told me to wait another 2 weeks before giving any nutes. she sure would have been dead by then. i ph'd at 6.2 like u told me. will keep you posted on how she is after this feeding.which was 420ppm on a seedling !hope i didnt go too strong but she barely got any color w the last feed.thanks again muddy

I don't get into New Growers much now that I'm an admin but just happened to see your thread when I was checking new posts. I've got some plants finishing up veg right now and will be starting some more seeds as soon as I get these transplanted. I usually pre water my starter pots the day before I plant the seeds and that's usually enough for about the first 5-6 days. With the next batch I'm going to try giving a 1/4 strength feeding on that second watering at day 5 or 6. I'm starting to think that the starter nutes in Pro Mix either aren't enough for autos or possibly not the right ones. I've noticed that my plants seem to stall a bit until they get that first feeding. They don't stunt, just don't seem like they are growing fast enough. I'll keep you posted on how it work out.
