Hey everybody, still can't find the correct info I am looking for. I want some info on what lights to use for an auto flower grow room that is 4X4 in size. Do I use CFL light the whole way through on 20/4? Or do I use an HPS 600 Watt set on 18/6? These are some simple questions that I simply cannot find any answers on at all. Thanks.

Hey man it's up to you! I run all my autos on 20/4! It depends on budget! If you wanna spend over a grand a get some led in there your ladies will love you for it! If you wanna spend 300$ and put a hps in their, they will love ya still! Cfls are kinda a pain for a 4x4 room! Go led or hps! They both have pros and cons! Led con is price, hps con is wasted spectrum! Hps pro is a shit ton of Lumens, led pro is less energy and heat and no duct work! It's all up to you. What would you like?

you will need between a 600w-1000w hps for that room
or maybe 4x150/125w led it is a big area
or 750w-1000w in t5/cfl
IMO

you will still need duct work for led to supply co2 and get rid of humidity

I think you could use 2 Blackstar 240uv's plus some supplemental twisty cfl's. Cfl's are great for the first 2-3 weeks, then add the LED's or HPS and use the cfl's for side lighting. My :2cents: anyway.

it's your choice, they all work. you have all the ansewer's in these thread's on lighting, i use led's and cfl's in combo. iwill not use street lamp's:D there is no point in it. the result's are in! led's perform as least as well as hid or hps for less cost in electricity and extraction equipment, and duct work and less fire hazard more life on the led's no bulb replacement...on and on..... and on!:2cents: wake up people!:D change your thinking from the microsecond's
of the 20th century to the picosecond's of the 21st century!:group:and if you want to stay ahead of the curve.. you should be working on the picosecond's of the 22nd century! it's a peptide rush, so speed it up!:scope:

Great advice guys. I am going LED ASAP, as well. I am really looking at these new Fero LEDs we'll have here soon. Lifetime warranty? Get outta town. :D

You can also use 1-2 T5 panels. Look up and check out the Bad Boy T5 units. Top of the line right there and they rock! :D
