thank you, i have 2 300 watt equivalent floros (65 watt) ad a t5 along with a osculating fan.
edit- it only took 20 mins for the seedling who were outside on a cool overcast day to appear more vigorous under the floros.
i guess the clouds really block those lumens
my favorite to strat under is a 250 MH with a fan there is virtually no heat.i have used twin 1000s to start seedlings before and its nice quick growth , but i lost everything in hurricane sandy so its back to floros, the sun, or both.
I just purchased a "dimmable" 400w MH/ HPS light kit. Would it be better to start youngsters under CFL or my "dimmed" HID? What is the dimmable feature for? Thanks...bongwater

both would work, i would start under the mh if temps arent an issue, personally when i had a 400w i would start with my 400 hps from day one though since my mh bulb came broke.
and if you dim ur ballast to say 75% it would be running at 75% power so 300 watts or at 50% it would be 200watts. a lot of people just dim down to use less power or to lower temps :smokebuds:
