Hey guys,
I've started this thread in the hope of getting the right info because i've heard so many people say one thing and others another" plus its the same when i read about it aswell.
Considering its all the same thing in the end why so much miss information!
I harvested my plants and put them into my grow tent/dark box to dry and kept the filter and 4" inline fan to keep air tidy inside, anyways my buds took 5 days to dry to the point where they were going crispy to the touch" plus the stems dont snap but not far away from that if you know what i mean.
My buds are nice sticky and dry, i've had my buds in jars simce friday just gone which isn't along time but for the first two days i was opening the jars 3 times a day and giving a small fan with my hand and then closing them. They smell nice when i open them afew times aday but coz i read that the proper way to cure was to open them once a day and move them around and back in the jar" so i didnt open them for the last 24hrs, when i opend them today the smell wasn't as strong as opening afew times a day just to change the air inside.
Please could someone give me some advice off people who have cured tidy and not fuck them up like some lol
Thanks guys for reading

If they have gone from being crispy back to plyable from being in the mason jars that means you have brought the moisture from the middle of the bud to the outer part I then take it back out and let it dry for another 24 hours or less then jar them up and burp every few day for a few weeks. I read a good tip on here get those packet that keep things moist or fresh you find them in beef jerky products for instance you can buy then new too I cannot remember the name off hand of those little packets. But throw one of those in keep it in a fridge when done curing and your weed will last for ages

Like many on here I use the brown paper bag method.
You know a standard brown paper bag your apples would come in if bought from a fruit stall.
Buy some off ebay.

No big buds or huge cola's.
All medium/small nugs of goodness.
I grab a hand full and chuck in the bag.
Roll the top up and use a clothes peg to keep shut.
I then peg this bag up on a line in my grow room. 5 or 6 days later inside is perfection.

For me this is the easiest and best way ever.
Im new to this, done 3 harvests and always amazed at the simple idea.

The bag draws out the moisture and the air in the room dries out the bag.
Dont over fill the bag, just line the bottom inch or so.

No doubt on here there will be a thread with all this on :)

Boveda 62% packs are very useful in curing and reduce the chances that you will mess things up. If the bud is too wet, they will absorb moisture, and if it's too dry, they will release moisture: http://www.bovedainc.com/solutions/herbal/. I would be careful with the dessicant packs mentioned by Fairlynew as they are not designed to maintain the humidity levels that cannabis needs. Put too many of them in a jar, and you may find your bud to be dried like hay when you open it again.

I follow the general process in the link opi8250 posted. Dry 5-7 days, put in a jar and burp daily until they are down below 65%, then keep them sealed up to allow the cure to begin. Putting in a Boveda pack at this point will ensure you don't dry out the bud too much, and it will preserve it over the long term.

AB Has the right of it. These Boveda packs really make it easy to get a good cure. Be sure to use a decent RH meter and it should go well.
I am doing an experiment with archiving. I have a small jar, a small Boveda 62%, and an Oxygen absorption pack; into this went a 1/4 oz. The thoughts behind this are to keep the humidity constant with the Boveda and to eliminate the Oxygen to stop oxidation and degradation. Read about it and it sounded logical! We'll know in a year or so!!

Willie, I have bud over three years old preserved using that same method. Definitely a heavier stone than when fresh but still smelling and tasting great. I'll break out some AKR or Russian Rocket Fuel from 2011/2012 for guests and they can't believe the potency.
