Since my harvests are small, 1-2 ounces of dry bud I found that my buds dried too quickly if I hung them up in the open air. I live in a pretty dry area. I also found that they dried unevenly due to difference in size. With my last harvest I trimmed the buds right after harvest. Just a rough trim. Then I chopped the buds into rather even sizes. Most of the chunks I made maybe 1.5 inches square.
Next I placed the buds on a cookie sheet and let them dry for probably 4-5 days. I kept a close eye on them to make sure they weren't getting to dry. Then I popped them into jars and aired them out frequently. It all worked out well and was faster than hanging big buds for days, then paper bagging them then jarring.

Willie, I have bud over three years old preserved using that same method. Definitely a heavier stone than when fresh but still smelling and tasting great. I'll break out some AKR or Russian Rocket Fuel from 2011/2012 for guests and they can't believe the potency.
AB that's great news. I thought it just sounded logical and I have been trying to come up with a good way to de air or whathaveyou to keep oxidation at bay.
