How should a perfectly dried bud feel? I chopped her down 4 days ago and the buds feel crispy on the outside and spongy in the middle. knowing when they are finished would lead to curing. Any advice would help. Thanks guys
I think I'm in the right zone. ...bought three hygrometer (cheap) lol and put most of my harvest into 3 half gallon jars. Some of the smaller exposed stems kinda snap and the other bigger buds are bending but about to snap. My Meyers read between 65 and 75 but each Jat has a good mix in it and should b pretty equal so I know my hygrometer is off. Got my third one next to my digital reader which isn't calibrated but hopefully way more accurate to get an idea of how far off this one is while the other two sit in jars. I think they are about 73 to 78 % if I had to take a random guess. And I'm shooting high to stay away from mold lol. Don't have boveda yet either. So at this point, them being spongy and just crispy on sum buds and sum spots, would I air out the jars once every twelve hours for like two days then burp once a day depending on how I see my humidity drop? I was kind of able to do a test run with one plant, this is my first grow ever, and it was too dry and had that flower smell but I feel just barely fell short of the sweet spot lol so I'm thinking this way I slow down the doing process slightly while beginning cure and hopefully falling into/finding that sweet spot. This is some good as weed, in my link below, and I want it to b as close to perfect as possiblethe easiest as a general statement when theyre ready are as you said really.crispy(sometimes VERY crispy depending on bud structure too)and lightly spongy..the key is to make sure they retain their form..if you lightly squeeze them n they stay indented some or ofcourse a lot, theyre too wet..period..in standard climates n things being on the east coast in winter generally many of my autos tend to take 4-5.5 days to dry. with that same feel or rough crispy and well spongy that pushes back n retains its shape..then the burping of the buds in jars begins..lol for about a week or even two depending (using boveda packs imho) and should be opened no less than every cpl days for a short 5-10 minutes nothing longer imo. n do that for a week er so n then seal it n stick it in a dark place about 65-70F in the dark..:Sharing One: to cut down on smells for cutting you can cool it down to like 60F or even a little cooler n that'll tamp some of the terp n oil profiles for the drying some.:tiphat: :smoke: happy stoning..err smoking !>LMAO!
Edit: DAMN I type slow LMFAO
I to use the stem method, juuust when its about to snap..when it snaps its tooo dry most times
