New Grower when to put under lights

I need to know when to put my plants under the light. They are about an inch or so and just beginning to show the first set of leaves. I have looked around the forum so that i do not ask a question that i can find the answer to.

I put mine under cfl right when they pop. My issue right now is whether do leave the light on or keep it in dark until the other three break soil??

I'd leave the light on mate,the other three could take a day or 2 to pop and the sprout needs light in that time.:smokebuds:

I put mine under the lights before they break soil..It works great with CFLs and LED and i would presume HPS/MH:thumbs:

im with si bro i put mine under light as soon as i put them in the medium figured if i was to plant them outside the sun would be hitting the ground there under

yea i just put 4 beans into soil yesterday to germ and i have them under my 600w hps to to maintain warm temps so turn that light one :thumbs:

Thanks....thats what I figured since if it was outside the sun would be out. After all we are imitating nature right? lol

thanks everyone, will put them under today. As they are still small how far away should the light be, i have heard that too far away causes then to stretch/get leggy.
