You were at the Motorhead and Hawkwind concerts too ?

I was a NWOBHM disciple into LOUD metal an the like. My first concert was AC/DC at Wolves Civic in 1978.

I am still as deaf as a post. Eh ? What ?

ps Krug, I guess there were few of us who interpreted Hamsteads as yr gnashers. I had one of my Ted Heath out two week ago. Still hurts like Bombay Duck. Feel for ya mate.

Iron Maiden from the start up to seventh son of a seventh son & lost interest after that, Di Anno was awesome but Dickenson rocks and flies the Maiden jumbo jet, it doesn't get more rock star than that.

Hawkwind ahhh Hawkwind, first introduce to Hawkind first time I took acid - Levitation was the album wow what a night to remember, I was hooked. Church of Hawkwind is my favorite album. Seen them live and had I can't even count how many albums I have bought over the years. But "Do re mi fa so la ti do" sucked ass. My mums got a washing machine lolz

Bob Calvert was also a genius all be it a little deranged in Syd Barrat kind of way, there was one time in Germany that Hawkwind ran away and left him in the hotel on his own because he had bought some military hardware including some live grenades. Having said that "Captain Lockheed and the Starfighters" is an awesome calvert album, I also like "Lucky Lief and the Longships", "Test tube conceived" possitively terrible.

Motorway City is one of my all time fave tunes. Levitation is AWESOME. They are the only band I ever saw (at least four/five times) that I thought were too loud and to bright. I had to shield my eyes from the lighting rig. Maybe I was too old at the time. Calvert always said, the mixes done on acid were the best!
I love the early Di Anno times. Saw then a dozen times or more. I once jumped on stage when he was at the back getting a breather during a Murray solo. Got thrown out by the roadies, but on the way out I shook hands with Paul and said "Cheers from the fans Dave ! "
I was always a bit thick !

On a side note, I got Bruce's autograph on my "cut off" when he was with Samson. (Remember Thundersticks? the drummer?) He called himself Bruce Bruce back then.
Ah those were the days. I miss 'em big time.
Good to chew the fat with a like minded pal.

Burning up the night sky with an orange flame

Best Hawk gig for me was the Electric TeePee tour utterly out of this world stage visuals using many layers of gauze screens making the visuals 3D and back projected psychedelic swirls projected from the floor of the stage which made silohuettes of the band 30 feet tall.

I was also lucky enough to see TNT Hawind (The Nik Turner Hawkwind) in a bicycle powered tent at Glastonbury, what a treat and it was and it wasn't listed anywhere, it was just one of those things you had to stumble on.

Also saw Kula Shaker at Glastonbury play "Hurry on sundown", there was me singing out loud to it and all these cool young kids looking at me and wondering how I knew the words to a song they hadn't heard Kula Shaker play before lol.

Now swallow your Blue Dreamer and put your helmet on , coz you got to get out of it to get in to it!
