Day 17 - just topped them all, at 5th and 6th node.

Just going to concentrate on tucking fan leaves to expose the branches and encourage growth over the next few days.

When branches are long enough they will be tied to stakes.

curious to see how fast they girls recover, auto's have just a fast growth rate in general... did you FIM or just straight top off all the girls?

I think they'll shrug it off no probs, some had already started pushing out those lower branches a couple of inches.

Just straight topped them, more predicatble for training them that way I felt.

Plus I forgot to say, strains like white citrus and OGRE have an extended pre-flowering stage, rather than an af that switches into full flower very quickly, they still veg/stretch a fair bit after sex, so I'm going to say they will adapt to the topping rather than have to 'recover' from it :)

good to know, some much of the info out there is absolutes, like never top an auto, but it makes more sense with larger strains like the ogre that veg would take more time so training has more flexibility

Just part of the evolution I think my friend! Some of the golden rules first laid down where for LR1 etc, Some can be tweaked now and still get nice results.

If I have time I'll photograph a single plant topped earlier today, and then again in 2-3 days then at the weekend, and we'll see how she's going on

Reminder for myself - Back Left Girl!

I can't wait to see how these turn out I've never seen an topped auto :bong:

Hey guys, day 23 update. 6 days since topping, they seem to have adjusted nicely. Hopefully another 7 days of preflowering/stretching before bud making really sets in.

Same white citrus plant, as in the pic above:

Obviously a size different at this stage, will see how they get along,

If it's quite different I can put the Bigger plants around the outside, and have the smaller ones raised up in the middle to make the canopy even.

Cheers

I want to see how this one turns out. I agree with you that it seems that the rules, as well as the genetics are changing by the day. that is a good thing! Esp being part of this forum

Won't take pics until sunday, but spotted colour on a fair few of the Pink Ogres today @ day 26.

Going to stake and tie down the White Citrus over the next couple of days.

Pink Ogres are smaller but hopefully still some nice stretch to come.

cheers mitch
