ya, I agree, garlic is great, but I'm more concerned with, first getting these white flies gone, and as much as I like garlic
would rather the smoke taste like it should and Not like garlic, I believe that in one
AFN area it was recommended to use a few cloves / quart of water, filter then spray, thanks for your replies

Hey and welcome!
Not having had an infestation I won't be of much assistance, sorry. However I am happy you are here and there are several place to get good help with this, I know quite a few of the experienced growers have seen this and survived. I would start a journal, you will be able to track the progress and we'll be able to better assist. There is the Live Help Thread and the Infirmary for help with this as well.
Peace and happy growing.

I'm thinking that garlic flavour might be an interesting marketing niche.

I'm so glad to find this forum after my original post I found ' Self Diagnose Your Plants - Basic Deficiencies List ' a lot of useful information, a real treasure.

Hello chum,

white fly is becoming immune to just about every chemical known to man. It is becoming a real problem for commercial growers. You can spend a fortune on sprays and they no longer work. Best bet is to spray with a dilute solution of washing up liquid.

It will not cure but will make 'em feck off for a while! And yes, as Tony says, the yellow strips do work well.

As for the leaf deficiency, there is a poster picture somewhere. Any one wanna chip in ?

Ta, eP.

thank you so much for everyone's very kind attention, sticky traps and a mild soap spray, I tried sliced garlic stuck on a thin stick,
placed them under, but not touching the plants, looks kinda like mini flying saucers.
Also inquired at a local plant shop for Zinnias apparently they give off an unattractive scent to white flies, they did not have any Z's but also suggested the soap spray. Cheers Mism
