Hi guys, first off, sorry no pictures at the minute, its night time and I cannot get a clear enough shot of the bud under artificial light (and the flash just makes it all white).

Anyway, I was hoping someone could post a pic or point me to a pic that shows what the start of white mold would look like inside a dried bud.

I have had mold problems in the past both gray mold when growing, and white in the curing jar. However the white in the curing jar was patches all over the bud and could not be mistaken.

However, this time the first I noticed of it was when I noticed pure white grinds in the grinder, so I peeled back some of the bud and found the green of the bud slowly fades to white(ish) around the stem (almost like a washed out discoloration). Now this also smells a little different inside, almost just like dust - sorry no other way to discribe it, it is slightly sticky to the touch without leaving any residue on the fingers.

I will try to get a picture tomorrow, hopefully one that will do it justice.

All buds in the same jar are like this - oh and its a fresh new jar, I binned the previous one.

pictures of the inside of the bud.

any and all opinions welcomed.

Sorry to tell you this mate, but you have got mould in the bud.

From where you have broken it apart it looks like the centre of the bud wasn't fully dry. I can see brown decomposing bits near the centre and it seems this is where the mould is forming.

For smoking purposes the bud is a complete write off. Smoking mouldy bud is VERY hazardous to your health.

You can however make something with it so it is not a complete waste. I would suggest either making hash or canna butter with it, so you at least save some of the buzz.

I know you have some scouser drying/curing, so to save this happening again here are a few things that will help you out

1. Airtight jar - I know you probably have these already but they are essential(I use empty dowe egberts coffee jars)

2. Mini Hygrometer - This takes the guess work out of the drying curing process, a must if you want to cure your bud properly. Here is a link
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-L..._Reptiles_Spiders_Insects&hash=item2ec9480264

The simple method to a good cure is:

1. dry bud hanging upside down until the stems crack when bent
2. put bud into jars with the hygrometer inside
3. check relative humidity and keep airing the bud until it comes down to 67%
4. leave to cure for at least 3 weeks but keep checking the jar once or twice a week

If you are in a humid environment and burping/airing the bud isn't helping, then try half filling the jar with bud and then fill the other half with tissue. If you leave it for a few hours you will find the tissue has become damp.
if you keep changing the tissue for a fresh batch it will slowly decrease the humidity levels in your bud.
I would recommend you separate the bud and tissue with a brown paper bag just so you don't get a load of tissue fibres in your bud.

I hope that helped, let me know if you need any more help

Sorry to see this man... Im not sure what you can even do with bud like that, I tried to make some ISO hash one time with moldy buds and all it did was make moldy tasting hash..

The number one thing you can do is get yourself a hygrometer to go inside your jars, if the jars get to 70% then you open the jars and burp them..

Happened to me with some crap stuff of Northern lights. They were not grown properly and buds were zero quality, but I kept them, did not much care about the stuff overall and so they were kept in the jar at 72% RH at the end, for two months, I say 72 at the end, because I had bought small hyrometer just at that time. At the end they were all white as yours. Since RH was too high but not extremely too high it had taken one month to destroy it, at 85% would be quicker.

I had realized that my perception of what was 65% or 70% was wrong al the time. Small hygrometer, small enough for my jars showed me that.

So get your hygrometer, dry stuff until 75% (you put it in jar and close for some time to measure). Then you dry it in open jars, you open, close, measure, open more or less, you measure, you close, you open, yo measure RH and so on until 65% app, when you start to cure. You would still do some openning but you would not want your stuff to dry any more. Just cure.

One more thing, I had thrown my stuff away, my friend wanted to take it and give it to someone for free, but immedatelly agreed wih me that we really do not want to give such potentially poisonous stuff away.

We would only give it as a present to our enemies, but we havent got any.

Went and checked my other harvest and now think this one is molding too - so pics of my scouser bud :/

Its really hard to tell from the pics.. You should go and get a hygrometer ASAP. Even a cheap one from a pet store..

thanks for looking m8, these buds are now out drying again - they took over three weeks before I jarred them (for a grand total of 3 days), then off the back of the other find I emptied them out into the grow box (with no lights on) to dry some more with a fan blowing over them - its the only bud I have left and I would rather smoke it too dry than moldy. My grow box is outside and is 7c ambient and 75% humidity at the minute.

Not all of it has this pale white through the centre, but a fair portion does.
