Greetings fellow auto enthusiasts!

I've got two White Sirius plants going as a test grow on behalf of the generous Stitch.

It's exciting to be able to try out an unreleased strain, and to be able to grow some fine smoke while helping out an elite breeder.

It's like helping out a cannabis celebrity, at least for me! :D

They are probably at week 6 or 7. I have been really busy, and I just treat the plants according to where they are in the auto growth cycle.

I will post some earlier pics later, but you can check them out in my ongoing perpetual auto grow, link in sig.

So far I"d say these plants are wonderfully indica dominant, and while there is some branching that makes one plant look more x-mas tree like, the other is a cylinder shape that is really compact, which means you could fit many of these in a small space if need be.

They flowered much earlier than any other auto I've had, usually in 5-6 weeks. Both White Sirius both flowered at 3-4 weeks I'd say, which is great, because I am moving towards faster, large-yielding indica dominant strains in order to meet my current requirements. White Siriius fits the bill.

I may have let them stretch too much by keeping the Height LED--my seedling/veg light--too high. My first few harvests were with the light too low, so of course I've swung to the other extreme, and will now try maybe 8-10" max until stretch is well under way.

I call it "the point of no return", because after they gain momentum you can bring the lights down as low as you can without burning or bleaching, and if you are able to do daily maintenance you can get away with low light height by training your plants and tucking things so they are not too close to the light.

I have 2 x 27 watt CFLs on one end of my blackstar 240UV, one warm white and one cool shite. There is a 45W warm white CFL on the other end. These sort of cover the areas outside the power zone of the blackstar, which is probably better suited for one medium/large plant.

I plan to get another blackstar 240UV to add to the flowering chamber, then it will be GAME ON in terms of having ample light...I am not completely satisfied with my yields, I think because I try to leave a lot of branches, there isn't enough energy to make many large buds.

Forgive the crappy photos, I am using a webcam, and sometimes just holding it, which messes up the focus.

White Sirius #1
I forgot to include the tape measure, this baby is 26" tall, slightly more mature than her sister, and a very regal, classy girl.

Update - I think we're at 8 weeks - buds are slowly but surely forming, kinda slow but picking up steam. The smell is still hashy coffee/cocoa just dankness, but when I was painting pistils I was catching this very sweet smell, very appealing, the only thing I can say is sugary, candy, yum.

I've dusted both WS ladies with various BH pollen I collected around Feb this year, stored with silica gel at room temperature. Not sure if I dusted too late or the pollen is no good, although it seems dry and fine. Maybe I'll get a few Sirius Smurf seeds...haha...dunno what else is blue, white and SiriuS!

I've smoked some lower, very immature buds, and it is already very potent.

I took some pictures of the taller, more sativa pheno in the sunlight shining through an open window. She's really a nice looking plant, I will not let them stretch so much next time, I'd rather she was 2/3 the height, she'd look chunkier at harvest I'm willing to bet, the nodes are a bit long, a failed experiment at letting plants grow tall/not stunting them. Now I know to grow nodes first and then the stretch will help as long as I am not stunting, it's easy with LEDs.

OK, enough babble, enjoy some closeup shots of some very pretty flowers with much room to grow. I think the sunlight helped me a lot this time.

TOKE OUT

I've been really busy and stressed out about money, I keep digging myself into deeper and deeper holes with debts and stuff.

I have been having a lot of germination problems, losing many many seeds, but finally I think I have some KVS and maybe BH, we'll see.

I get really paralyzed with anxiety when it comes to money problems and deadlines. I am putting more and more faith in my growing skills to keep me alive in the future, I sure hope there are still places in the US that have medical marijuana in a few years...

The pressure will make you a better grower. If we don't grow, we don't eat. This is the nature of farming the earth.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, this community really is amazing, I have learned so much and probably avoided some mistakes. Everyone is so positive, whereas I'm finding most people in the city at least just utterly stressed out and negative.

I long for a place in the country and a dog :)

Yeah man, it's definitely something I will be doing in some form as I enjoy it so much, it never ceases to amaze me when I smoke homegrown. There's something so pure and natural about it too, I grow culinary herbs and treat them exactly the same as cannabis and they are all just herbs, but this one is obviously pretty magical.

I realized I was starting kind of get this wussy feeling inside, so after talking with a friend who literally lives off the land now growing food, almost 100% money-free living, I was reminded to just come back to the present and just stop apologizing for everything and to just be me, and if that means I like to grow gourmet cannabis, so be it.

I sleep fine at night in terms of the morality of ethics of it, like I said it is so natural and frankly I don't even do that much, it's definitely a great lesson in genetics, and I just try not to abuse the plants with poor conditions.

Anyway, full speed ahead and the research will go as long as I can do it safely.

And thanks for the rep slap, Toke, I don't know how I missed that...show how a negative attitude can cause blindness!!!

I am now convinced after seeing Robowar's BOM-worthy grow that a second Blackstar will help with my yield issues, as well as helping the plants finish a little quicker. I believe our spaces are basically identical in dimensions, and his work with the airpots is truly top notch.

I have a goal, and I will see if I can reach that by X-mas, that'd be a sweet present to myself! :)

Update

I smoked up WS#2, the skinny fruity pheno, as my med needs skyrocketed to fight off withdrawal from some psyche meds I couldn't afford. I can say that White Sirius held off some serious symptoms including some very horrible brain zaps that one particular med will cause if I don't take it for a little more than 24 hours. So I'd say this strain has a powerful effect even when not properly matured and dried.

However, I am happy to present to you....Kush Mountain!!!

This strain forms large, silver calyxes, and this pheno still has but a very subtle odor.

But what is truly awesome abut this strain is the size of this main cola, and the cola on her headstash sister was smaller, but still among the chunkiest buds I've grown yet.

The high so far is strong, although I have a pretty high tolerance these days. It is very relaxing and enough will put you out for the count. The flavor is a rich, sweet hash, very satisfying for me, I smoke it just for the flavor as well as the real-life med effect that opens up the potential for possibly someday withdrawing more comfortably from this institutional addiction.

This pheno is a little slower in maturation that her skinny sister, but she more than makes up for it with bulk. The buds and calyxes still need to swell, and I will try my best not to touch this gargantuan crown as it just blows the roof off of what I can expect to yield.

I removed some of the main fan leaves which goes against my current technique, but I think this late in the game there are more than enough secondary leaves to make up for the light blocking fan leaves.

I have one more bean, but I'm ready to buy 10 as soon as I can for the quickness, potency, and yield.

This strain will definitely become a part of the auto indica breeding project I'd like to get going involving white sirius, kush van stitch, and sweet afghani delicious so far in the mix.
