I am so blown away with how happy frog and coco work. 40/60. Think a 30/60 hf to coco is better.
Growth is nuts! My plants are short with extremely thick stocks.
All because of crazy thick root. Everything goes nuts.
Catalpa trees love it, tomato plants, russell flowers, poppies, and a list of other veggies.
Roots love coco. They even come up out of the top of the soil.
29 days old from breaking ground. 3 gal root maker pots. General Organics no phing wtih tap water (80-120ppm depending on time of year)
Soil charge (microbe charge ) top choice for transplants https://realgrowers.com/product/recharge/

What is feeding like with that efficient of a draining medium? With very limited vertical growing space, the idea of bushes is VERY appealing to me....:)

Is it Coco Loco?

Wait, I have that backwards don't I? Coco extends moisture retention doesn't it?

Its cheap GH coco. With the happy frog mixed in it hold more water. Even my large plants I water ever other or every 2 days.
Coco holds a crazy amount of water but can dry fast.

I stumbled on this combo on my last run and I really like it. It holds water like crazy and I don't worry about the ph'ing. I am using Botanicare Coco and Happy Frog 50/50 but think I will try 75 coco next time.

Is there any sense to adding perlite to the combo in this equation? or is it just the FFHF and the Coco? Will it still take Lime and Mycos the same way?

I put a tbs of myco powder in... heck if I know if it worked or not. I assume so. I did add one dose of Carboload, but I am not adding anything other than the Mills Nutrients the remaining 4 weeks. I am doing a test for myself on the Mills and so far I am more than delighted.

Trapper you will have to water a bit more however the plant should spread its roots faster with perlite. More air. I do add a little, like no more then 2 gal to a large brick of coco.
If you add more it really becomes light. Can be good or bad depending on how much you want to water.
If you go heavy on the FFHP add more perlite.

@blessedinwashington

For sure it really does add a nice buffer for the PHing. Ill let the microbs do the PHing on this run. Looks well so far!

Thanks, I may try this next go around....:)

Trapper, why not? For me this is my hobby. I want to grow the best I can AND I want to have fun doing it. So experimenting is something that I enjoy and get frustrated with. I have to have a little frustration in my life. I'm single so that is about all the frustration I get. :-)

Trapper it will work with any medium. It only makes soil better.
I can wait to add it in with my garden, mix it in with the native soil, and soon to come green house.

I'll post up some root balls soon.
