New Grower why go auto?

aside from the obvious reasons for growing autos, no need to list them, what i am really asking is what are the trade offs, if you had a choice would you still grow them?
i was thinking of making hash out of mine, because if autos are not as strong as photos i should have a milder hash.
i just have a slight feeling that im growing pretent weed, of practice plants.
im sure some of you have felt this way

I grow autos purely due to speed. Sure it's only a few weeks extra flower but also veg time. I can start my autos off under cfl while the rest are finishing under the hps in tents. If I find a strain like the critical jack which I've bad ready at 8 weeks and produce no less than 1.5oz each. I can get that down every 6 weeks. I also believe autos have come along way and although I have had some weak tasting autos I think taste wise cream caramel has been in top 3 smokes and the critical jack is as just as good as photos Ive smoked. I'm running two tents and this yields gonna be shit but I normally get 10/11 from my big tent and aiming for 5 from my little tent which is defiantly possibly. That will be 15oz every 6weeks of decent bud plenty for me and my brother. People say photos yield more and sure they do but I'd have to keep mothers and say I wait 3months including veg and flower with photos the most I could pull is 21oz and that's in perfect conditions. I'm getting 9 more and can change the strains up for different flavours.

The mass market is not enthusiasts with expensive equipment and space. It is the single tent growers. They grow for personal consumption alone. Now they want to try new varieties as well as grow some known ones. Their tent can be expected to have plants of different heights, even different ages in it all at once. They can't use cuttings anyhow because they don't have veg tents. So it's auto seeds or photo. But once you put a photo in, you are stuck on a 12 hour timer. Plant another photo and it has no veg period. It becomes a 12/12 perpetual grow tent. So you figure you are only using your light half the time, that ain't efficient. So that pushes you to autos. You can put the seed in the pot and the pot in the tent and you have your environment. Most growers are just that, they sample others work but have no interest in breeding themselves.

Welcome to AFN FT first things first Autos are just as strong as any photoperiod and some can yeild just as well when you consider you can fit 2 Auto grows in the space of 1 Photo grow..

What do you mean by "Pretend weed" and Practice plants?

Autos have been a round quite a long time just people have not give them the :clap::clap::clap: that they deserve

Personally, i like a bit of variety. For me it's either one photo period or 2-3 autos.
I've never had an issue with Autoflower potency, although in my experience, I'll yield more with a Big photo than with a couple of autos - but saying that, a couple of autos is plenty for us.

One thing i will say in regards to "practice" plants is that Autos ARE great practice for growing - you'll learn all the necessary skills, PH, heat, veg nutes and flower nutes, spot a male, etc etc etc Once you've "got it" and are growing autos nicely, if you were to try a Photo period, you'd be amazed at the abuse you can give them! A chop here, a top there, snap a branch - it's all good and if you encounter a problem, you will be well prepared because Auto problems need fixing quickly (as they're on a timer) so you'll already have the skills.

Usually, i'll rotate, probably 2 - 3 auto grows to one photo period!

You always have a choice furrything ^_^

Why run an auto? Because I'm almost out of pot and just started growing again. I'm going to smoke my male until my first female is done in 5-6 weeks. A photo would probably take a little longer than 8-9 weeks total.

Because smoke's been as potent as with photos for me. And this time I put them on balcony where I just feed them. No need to trick around with 12/12 cycle.

Well i like the autos because there quite quick and i dont like the 12 / 12 cycle as i like to play about with them anytime i want also as far as potency is concerned theres no difference imo , also in my little tent second last grow i pulled 20+ oz of syrup and top smoke it was mate , not bad for less than 1 square meter of space and a 400w bulb
