Wienerwoods' Microscopy Adventure

Haha bro you got the EXACT same scale I do.

Did you eat any fresh, or you just drying the entire harvest for later?

I'm drying them out... Waiting for the perfect opportunity to use them which I think could be right after I've moved.

That scale is awesome for the price. I previously had the plastic one that they also sell on Grasscity for nearly 10x the price (diamond or sth it's called) and it didn't last for long.

Right on, you'll have to let me know how your adventure goes. Yeah I've had my scale for something like 2 years. I'm not sure it is 100% accurate but it gives me at least a pretty close measurement.

I'll probably be doing updates until I have everything dried up and stored away. Thinking about a photo dump sometime tomorrow since a lot has happened since the last one.

My scale is quite accurate. I periodically check it by measuring coins and looking up their supposed weights online. Never misses by more than 0.03g.

Pictorial update!

I don't think I'll be able to keep track of every cake individually for very long but as long as I can...

#1
Not sure what's happening here... Already harvested 45 grams but it keeps pinning more.

#2

this tardcake also seems to think it's a cactus

#3

#4
Yet another pin to survive dunk as well as roll... I wasn't careful at all this time either.

#5
Nothing yet.

PSA:
I've almost finished drying the 45 grams and it seems that in reality the dry yield is around 7% of wet weight.

Just plucked this hefty fellow from cake #3. Looks kinda like a grubby strawberry on a stick.

The longer one on the left matured earlier today but weighed only 4.6g... That sounded hella weird... I just cannot get over how quickly these things grow.

EDIT: Further harvesting of cake #3

I love seeing mushrooms. Their so exciting. It reall is a beatiful thing, our natural world.

Me too, mushrooms have been a part of my life since I was a small child. Seeing them grow first hand like this is amazing.

I don't get why so many people think mushrooms are disgusting when WE are the disgusting ones. That being said, I do shun some things about nature myself when the same philosophy could and should be applied.
