Grow Mediums WILMA - confused help!!!

I think that should be enough dude yea. Keep us up to date with it.
I would leave the pots an hour or two to let the run off clear and then put them back on the drip.
I have very little experience with coco- as i said i always use straight clay pebbles in the wilma.
But this is just what i would do if i suspected salt build up in the medium.
Keep us up to date dude

Gonna give this a go later today. Can see it bein a right pain in the arse haha but needs to be done and hopefully see the benefits before I harvest on the 28th.

Hi Dee High Big Az

I'm a coconut ^_^ and i like my coco!

Canna recommends always watering to run off (drain to waste) in coco to rid the salts - it's not 100% necessary if you get the feed bang on EC and PH and never let the medium dry - but it's so much safer if you can.

I have to harvest on June 29th. Long story. How would you approach this???

Ouch - that's like um - 2 weeks away.

So if you continue feeding, whether they're ready or not, they're gonna taste manky if you keep feeding them to the end.

Personally - i'd empty the rez - fill it with plain old water (preferably already gassed off - or from Tescos with no chlorine in). I wouldn't even PH it - just let it run through the plant - if it drinks it all - fill it up again.

My last 2 weeks are always plain water now (regardless of what canna say about buffers - my coco goes in the bin when i've finished a grow) - I find it gives a much more pleasant (non metalic or harsh) taste. Out of 20 - 30 grows, i've done it the last three times and had best results.

Early chop isn't desirable -but you gotta do what you gotta do - hopefully they'll be ready for the chop! :D

Good luck!

Blue ^_^

So you rekon just empty the res, clean and flush for the next 14days (harvest 29th). No more nutes to go over the roots? Should I still flush over the pots with 25ltrs today???

Na mate if your going with plain water for 2 weeks i wouldnt bother with the flush.
Do the girls look like theyll be near ready by that time?
2-3 yes. 1 well off but hopefully they will put some weight on with just water. First auto grow. Have u guys seen during flush that they put weight on???

^^
That's it! :D

I never really flush unless there's a super serious problem.
Some of the really dialled in growers will flush flush at the onset of flower (TaNg specifically IIRC)

The two weeks of just plain water should do the trick (if you HAVE to chop on the 29th)

So...... Have I made the right decision????

I've just flushed each tub with 12.5 litres of ph'd water. The plan now is to put back onto nutes this evening (EC around 1.7) and over the next 2 days monitor the EC level. This will be purely to see if it solved the problem so I can learn from this and pass on the experience to the guys on here. If only one person learns from it then it's a good call. So by sat/sun this week I will be running just pure ph'd water until the 29th with the res pump on 15 mins every hour for 20 hours (4 dark).

Let me know your thoughts, cheers
