Hi all, hope everyone is well.
I've recently been researching the atami wilma systems as they peaked my interest and noticed that a couple of people on here had some experience with them, namely sanguine and wile e peyote and have taken great interest in their threads and read the whole lot of their grow diaries and picked up some great tips.
I'd like to pick up one of these wilma systems over the christmas period as long as buying presents doesn't bankrupt me :)

I do have some questions and was hoping some of you kind souls who've had experience with them might be able to help out.

Firstly I was wondering about the sizes that atami offer. I have a spare 1.2 x 1.2 x 2m tent that I would like to use for it, however I'm unsure of the size to get. I'm quite fond of the wilma XL 8pot 11L 90cm x 90cm but was wondering if there would be enough space between the plants once they start getting to larger sizes and is the reservoir of adequate size? l If getting this size system, would it maybe be preferable to remove 2 of the pots and use it as a 6pot system instead, or should I keep it simple and just go for the Wilma Large 4pot 18L 75cm x 75cm system?

In a system such as this, is it preferable to plant the exact same seeds for the entire grow?
I ask this as I'm not sure what I would have to do when it came to nutrients/flushing if I used say 4 completely different seeds. Obviously certain strains requiring more/less time to mature fully and be ready for flush, how does this work in the Wilma?

Finally, I'd like to as a question about nutrients. As I've never used a system like this, are there any particular nutrients that would be recommended by you guys out there.
I noticed that Sanguine used the general hydro nutes for a couple of his early grows. I currently have the 3pack 1L which are the only nutes I have experience with in the past. If these are good enough obviously I would invest in the larger quantity bottles, but was wondering if there are better recommended ones out there and if so which ones should I get and what else would I require on top of that?

Sorry for the huge wall of text, I certainly don't want to bombard the forums with even more silly questions, so I'll stop there for now :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and all the best.

Hey brother welcome to AFN!
Yup im a big fan of the wilma systems.
In a 1.2 square tent i think its better to stick with a square system.
I use the 4 pot large 75cm with 11 litre pots and can normally fill the 4x4 tent.
You could go with the square 8 or 9 pot and have a sog type grow.

I still use the gen hydro 3 part nutes and think they work pretty good- i only buy 1 litre jars at a time. I bought 5l jars and noticed lumps of salt forming cause i had them too long.
Ive got a decent feed schedule for it now

As for strains i normally run 4 of the same. But growing from seed is so unpredictable you get different phenos from the same strain.
Ive ran 2 different strains a couple times and it wasnt too bad. I dont really worry about flushing anymore either. Doesnt seem to do anything.

Height might become an issue for a 2 m tall tent:
50 cm tall tank + 15 cm Lights from ceiling + 50 cm Light Distance from plants = 115 cm, which leaves only 85 cm for plant height.
I've got a 1.5 m tall mephisto sour bubbly auto right now.

Variety is the spice of life.
Certainly it's easier to grow all plants of the same strain, but some of us need several strains, and will put up with extra complexity to get them.

Nutrient brands are similar to any other commodity brands. They're all alike. Use half strength nutes or less or you'll get nute burn.

Flushing is for toilets, not cannabis.

I grow 4 different strains simultaneously, and differing sizes are a slight problem, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Those top feed systems look impressive, but my experience is that top feed does little except splash plants and clog tubes.
I'm scrapping my top feed and going to a larger single tank deep water culture.

Hey, thanks for the great responses guys, that is really helpful.
I actually also have a 1.5 x 1.5 x 2.3 tent that I would love to use, however the ceiling in my herb room is just slightly too low for it which is a shame.

Also thanks for the heads up on the 5L bottle of nutes @sanguine that is a great help as it will save me from a costly mistake :)

I'll certainly stick with the square system in that case. I actually have an IWS Oxypot single shown here - http://www.hydroponics.co.uk/iws-oxypot-single-xl-4-pot.html#.WjhaMd9l_cc

A friend donated me one of his spare ones as he wanted me to try it and get a feel for it, so going for the wilma 75x75 might mean that I could squeeze that single pot in there too to run independently.

I'm glad you guys haven't had any problems running different strains as that is what I was hoping to do also.
Thanks again for helping out with those questions, really appreciate it :)
