Hi guys im a total newbe and have just starting growing my first plant.

at the moment it is about 20 days from seed and im keeping it in a 55x55x150cm box with a 125w CLF (i will b moving to a 300w for Flowering)

Everything looks good so far but i haven't yet installed my fans within the box.
at the moment iv just left a 5" hole where the fan is suppose to be and occasionally just open the door to it slightly..

is this okay for now until i put the fan in or does the circulation of air and wind have major effects on growth and health of plant.

Hey and Welcome!!
You came to the right place for answers, I'm a bit of a newb so cannot tell you exactly why, but every grow picture I have seen has a circulation fan. I think it is very important, it keeps fresh air around the plant, avoids hot spots, strengthens the stem, and more I am sure. It was one of the first things I purchased.
Good luck and happy growing :karma Cloud:

Welcome Dave1..."seasonal12 ... and yes it's all relative to a good grow environment ,we try to mimic mother Nature best we can try to keep a little air moving across them until you get the fan , it doesn't have to be strong just movement...once again"MC5" welcome to the Family

Would you like to make this your home thread, all we'd have to do is change your title.

if you don't put air on her she grow tall and fall over.............yes air movement very important

Air blowing on her will strengthen the stem, also helps dissipate the odor, moves the bugs along their way, etc.

the reason for a calm breeze is plants breath Co2 through there leaves. they only process the smallest amount around the leaves I'll have to look up the exact distance so by having a breeze you replenish the Co2 and photo synthesis can continue on its merry way....

Thanks guys for all the advice, really is appreciated :)
