Hello AFN

Here comes my first grow report for this network.

I'm growing in a small closet which is 60 cm wide X 45 cm deep and 80 cm tall.

I build a subirrigated planter out of two small, 10 l, and one big 24 l (58x42cm)foodgrade plastic tubs.

The maximum height for my plants is limited to approx 55 cm.

I use a 70 watt hans panel as main light and a led band with 35 watt as side lighting.

I have a small outline fan connected to the active coal filter. The intake is passive. A 12 cm PC fan is used to move the air inside the box.

My medium consists of 8,5 l Biobizz light mix and, 1,5 l perlite. I add some mycorrhiza and water each tub with 1 l tap water with 4 ml Biobizz root juice before planting the seeds.

This is my 7th grow with this or a very similar setup.

I'm planting 1 deep blue C in the left tub, which sprouted today and a sour crack on the left which sprouted 2 days ago)(10.02)

I'll be happy if some of you follow my grow and please tell me what you think.

This is the momentary situation in my box:

Welcome to the micro-growers community, mate. I really like your setup, the side lighting is a great idea. I would love to have a micro setup as big as yours. Since you are using lightmix, I guess you will be using nutes along the grow, organic or salts? mycorrhizae are the grower's best friends, kudos for using them. How have your first 6 grows been? I am also interested in the reasons behind having just 2 plants in you space.
I'll be following for sure, have a wonderful grow, mate.

Hey JDoe, thank you for the compliment on my setup!
You're completely right, I do use nutes. I use Biobizz grow, Bloom, top max and the mentioned root Juice. Forgot to mention them because I'm not yet using them.
My first grows went well.

For these grows I didn't use the two small tubs, but a second big one, so I had a volume of 24 liters which was pretty tiring to keep them short enough:
1. An auto blueberry from Dutch passion. Yielded around 80g
2. Pineapple punch auto, don't remember the seed bank. Gave 60g but I had to top her in the beginning of flower cause she outgrew my box.
3. Sweet tooth auto from barneys Farm. Grew average, but yielded 55g of very tasty bud.
4. Three WOS Amnesia with 12/12 lighting from seed on. Each gave around 30 g.

This gave me the idea to divide the big tub in two smaller ones. I thought of 3 small tubs, but couldn't find fitting ones. So I went with the two I have now.

5. Two photoperiod bagseeds, 40 g each.
6. Started with an haze cross of a friend and one other bagseed like the grow before. Unfortunately the haze was a male, so I had to sacrifice him... The bagseed gave 45g

Because mephisto was very generous when I ordered I think on growing the 6 freebies in six 3 Liter fabric pots. I want a new challenge ;)

Edit: removed mobile phone signature.

I want to keep this grow journal entertaining but at this stage of grow I can´t post much because they are this small and I don´t want to annoy you with "baby pics" so I decided to share some pictures of my old grows with you. Hope you enjoy!

Nice setup you have going here. Subbed.

Exactly what kind of fan and filter are you using for odor control? And how loud is it?

Im always looking for new ideas for mine because i cant use anything louder than a fishtank airpump, which is what covers the noise from my grow box that uses only pc fans.

And i have to stick with low odor strains because my diy carbon filter isnt that great.
So far ive grown nirvana blue mystic and northern lights which were low odor and had no issues. Popping a shortstuff [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] next.

Would love to grow some mephisto beans if i can figure out a good silent fan and filter setup.
Cant be too noisy or stinky.:smoking:

I'm using a standard bath inline fan, don't ask me for the specs... I calculated once how powerful the fan has to be, ordered and forgot...

But I used self adhesive window sealing to make the hole for the fan tighter and I think it is also good for sound proofing, because it reduces the vibrations of the fan.

The filter I'm using is this: Amazon product ASIN
A sound proof tube is also a major improvement.
Maybe you can also use a bigger fan and a controller to run it on lower rpm...
