Lighting Would a 125w CFL bulb be enough?

In another forum I was given a really helpful chart that answers a lot of questions when it comes to choose lamps for your place. Here it is:

2 there's an afghan kush ryder and a Pakistan ryder, in a 30ltr pot, they are massive! Just started flowering and is getting smelly, I'll follow this grow to give you tips and advice where I can, I advise you have a go at the afghan kush its so hardy and survives a lot of things most strains don't, and I seem to be having problems opening pictures aswell, I think moderators are working on it :Sharing One:

I managed to open one of the pictures, they definitely look great!!! I would follow your advice by getting the Afghan Kush, but I've got my Diesel Automatic seeds already, got them in Amsterdam 3 weeks ago while on holiday...but will give it a go next time. Thanks for your help by following these posts, however, it's gonna take me a little while to start off, and the reason is simply the electricity bill, which is included in my rent, and therefore, I must make sure that my landlord won't come around with questions. So I'm spending a lot of electricity at the moment just to see what he says, so it a test basically..unfortunately I have to do it. I wish I could simply pay the bill and have no problems.

Hi ATPSYG :) Great charts you posted, thanks.

You have great space there, i recommend (if you're in the UK) Plug and Grow bulbs, they have extra-long tubes so more bang for your buck. I don't know about USA brands.

You're fine to use 2700K flowering all the way through, why not do more than one plant since you have all that space, that way the electricity you pay for is giving you a better return ?

Welcome to AFN by the way :)

The Plug and Grow lights look nice, thanks for the suggestion. Now I'm undecided, I was recommended a 100w HID lamp instead of a 125 cfl, because the HID you get more lumens. I found these two, a MH for veg
http://www.cp-lighting.co.uk/Osram-PB100TT-100W-E40-3000K, and a HPS for flowering: http://www.lampspecs.co.uk/Light-Bulbs-Tubes/SON-T-100W-Ext-Ignitor/SON-T-XO-100W-GES-Ext-GE. Are these good lamps?? Or should I look for different ones?

Perhaps in the future I'll plant more than one plant. I'll see how it goes now...I'm renting a room, my housemates won't know about anything, and I have heard that the plant can smell a bit, so I wanna be cautious...I don't really know how noticeable the smell can be... I'll eventually get a fan and a carbon filter, but will have to do my research first and probably ask a few questions here...

The smell can be VERY noticeable. You really should invest in a fan and filter, you don't have to spend loads of money on them. The one thing oyu don't want is someone smelling them then reporting you.

As for the HPS and MH lamps, i've never sued them but Sont and Osram are good makes in general. Lots of people choose Lumatek bulbs.

Bear in mind that HPS and MH throw out A TON of heat, which will add more stuff to cope with in your system. Obviously your extractor fan will extract the hot air, but you also have to have a fairly large gap between the lamp and the plants, whereas CFL can be roight up close.

I would go for a 250 watt P&G CFL, i have had great results with them, getting an ounce per plant from four plants, each in 2L pots :

Don't know why its posted 2 pics but you get the idea.

Great plants man! It's gonna be my first grow, so the more pictures I see, the more excited I get! I did a quick search on the Lumatek bulbs, they seem to be nice, thanks for that recommendation.

As for the fan and carbon filter, I was thinking of getting something cheap like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-In-Line...Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item19d3be1aa7. Would it be efficient for a 60x60x150 tent with only one plant, or would you recommend something else? How about the noise that it makes? I'll have it in my room, so I hope I can sleep well and I hope as well that my friend who lives on the other side of the VERY SHIT wall doesn't get annoyed too!

Although I'm undecided if I'll use HID or CFL, I guess in the end I'll go for CFL. The heat that HID throw out worries me a bit, I read somewhere that it can be dangerous and lead to a fire, and I don't spend that much time at home...so I guess I'll probably go for a 125w CFL. I would much prefer to use a 250w, but the problem here is the electricity bill and my landlord..

Pity the charts don't show.

For your situation I'd recommend my setup; DP's Masterkush/125w CFL in a smaller tent than yours.
No odor at all in 35th day in flower, she's good sized and month veg was perhaps too long for my space.
I had to switch to smaller bulbs to get light more evenly distributed. Not too much heat now or from 125w. 200w could need more investments.
One (cheap) fan blowing but I haven't invested in stealth.
