Hey folks, me again. Got another question.

Two of my latest plants (AutoX by Dutch Passion) are on Day 45 and Day 39, so basically half way through their life cycle. The problem is that I once again got a crap batch of soil, so my plants haven't turned out too well.

They're both in 15 litre pots.

I want to transplant these plants to 7.5 litre pots so I can fit another 2 of the same size pots in there for a total of 4 plants (two new Think Different ones). My question is simple: Can I do this?

I can't imagine their roots being too big to fit in a 7.5 litre pot, they aren't that big. Can someone advise me on what to do please?

imo that would be a mistake and stunt your plant worse...flush them extra well and allow to dry.

Not really an option I'm afraid fella, I need to start these two other plants or I'm not going to have enough to last until the following harvest :/ I'd rather stunt these two and get two big TD ones than leave these already stunted ones to give me a small harvest.

Oh and the pH is at 6.5 now, it took a bit of work but the damage was already done by the time it was fixed.

I am a new nobody sir but perhaps just finish these two up while starting your next go with a more suitable medium? It would seem they are far enough along that a transplant would just further hinder growth. Just my thoughts sir and good karma your way, cheers!

Yeah, I thought I was getting a good medium this time. I was using BioBizz light but strangely the pH out of the bag was about 5.6 :| I've switched to Plagron Light for my next grows.
They are indeed quite far along, but 7.5 litre pots are still quite big and could accommodate them. The little one in particular, no way will it's roots be bigger than a 7.5 litre space!

I would like to finish these two up before starting again, but AutoX isn't a normal autoflower. It goes to day 85 before harvest, where as Think Different (from my previous experience) has been ready at day 65-75. By the time these other two are finished, the newer ones would have been almost done as well!

Ah Billy I feel for you bro! I think doing anything now is very risky, I suppose you could give it a try and see what happens either way you going to stress you girls out this late into flowering. Iv moved to Plagon light Sewell nd AN iguana juice grow and bloom, with voodoo, sensizym and nivana. I'm still staying organic and no pH my water as this really upset my plants. BioBizz is good but didn't give me the results I wanted. :smokebuds:

I read in the Cannabis Grow Bible by Greg Green that if I measure the diameter of my plant's main stems and multiply that by 20, I'd get the amount of distance needed to avoid root damage when digging. I measured my plant's stems to be 1cm or slightly less each.
So 1 x 20 = 20cm. Not sure if it's double that like I was going 20cm each side from the stem, or 10cm each way.

You know what I mean, digging in a circle. I'm high right now.

What do people reckon? New pots should have enough space.

What are your temps like at lights out?

Your soil looks wet and heavy and if that thermometer is reading 74f with lights on the problem you are suffering is nute lockout due to low root temps. the temp will drop a lot at lights out and won't make it back up again. I'd refrain from trying to repot those plants as the roots will fall apart. try lifting them up off the ground and test temps of the soil. let them run as they are and plant new plants in different pots as those ones will insulate the soil.

I wouldnt bother trying to put them in a smaller pot personaly but if you do decide to do it take the whole of the plant and soil out the pot and try losen the soil to get rid of but by day 45 your roots will be at the bottom and round the sides by now your plant may seem smallish to you but the roots will be a hell of alot bigger mate :smokebuds:

yeah that really sucks, but bro if youre so fixed on getting some more pots in there get the TD started in small seedling pots and before those get root locked switch them to bigger ones and hang them up in the opposite corners of your tent so theyre above the other puts but on level with the canopy, by day 20 of the TD those other ones should be finishing up. thats just my :2cents:. i dont think 7.5 liter pots will do the TD any justice though, but i may be wrong, i dont really know to much about soil lol
