Thank you very much for the kind words! As for choosing well that’s a tough one. They seem to perform exactly the same, you’re just filling a res but I’d say the advantage to the pot system would be spacing because the trays are only so long and if the plants are big they may be closer together than you’d prefer. The advantage to the trays would be not needing an air base or air dome and air pump as well as being able to start the system a couple weeks earlier. If I had to choose i guess id go with the trays, less parts and it’s easier to remove the plant. With the pots you have to disconnect the air pump before removing the plant.Without doubt the best grow journal I’ve ever had the pleasure of following (and I have followed quite a few).
Outstanding growing, great yields.eyes
Question @PeaceLove&Buds ... if you had to choose between different autopot systems, which would be your go-to?
Easy2Grow Pot and tray or Tray2Grow? Reason I ask is that with the Easy2Grow the Aquavalve will water once the substrate is dry whereas Tray2Grow has nutes available 24/7.
Pots – plastic or fabric? – you prefer fabric – does size really matter?
Really good to see that higher EC at the start worked for you as well as the 24/0 light schedule
Looking forward to more.
All the best from South Africa.
When using the pot system it doesn’t matter if pots are plastic or fabric but the plastic ones will come out of the pots easier because the fabric swells a bit with the moisture and get a tight fit. With trays, fabric is the way to go for the best wicking. And I’ve found that plants will grow bigger in smaller pots with these systems. I have a few 5gal fabric pots left and am using them next grow but with only 2.5-3 gal of coco in them. I just saw a harvest 11oz from a 2 gallon pot on the tray so I won’t be using a shit ton of coco anymore.
I’m glad you enjoyed the grow! I’m about to start my next grow in a few days and will be journaling it here.
