New Grower Wtb LED

M
My original point was that you can't really compare the two without mentioning the price because it's a major factor in most people's purchasing decisions. I skip qualitative judgement on the basis of not having used both.

A 75w HS1 is £375 inc vat. Which Mars do you think it would replace and what's the cost?

I'm not sure I accept the premise that you can compare lights on the basis of equivalency, you choose a light based on available space, funds, and number of plants grown concurrently. I am able to grow up to 4 plants in my space with one 165 dollar reflector series, if I had nearly 600usd to spend on a light I'm sure I'd get my money's worth, but I couldn't justify the expense.

If you look at how much a more efficient light would save you in the long run on energy bills (which are rising not falling) I'm sure you could justify that initial cost of the set up,these lights can last for many years remember.

There's so many different factors when choosing a light.

Grow Northern have been a "AFN tried and tested" assured quality lamp that will without doubt grow your flowers to one of the highest standards a "lamp" can (it's tricky to compare grows because some growers are better than others - take me and TaNg for example - (we used to have) the same light, different nute schedule and growers and *hangs head* radically different results...but i love my GN lamp!!... and my results improved dramatically with its introduction)

Then we got Mars with a good few users that have been very happy with thier lamp but have only recently been on trial with AFN. We've currently got two separate staff members testing Mars Lights (thanks Mars!) and will give their un-biased reviews/opinions when they've finished.
Sniper and Son of Hobbes i believe.

For any members looking to get into LEDs I'd suggest reading the reviews on AFN - they're real.

Old people sometimes ask me to look into new laptops for them. The obvious question is "how much do you want to spend" but the better question is "how long do you want it to last for". You can buy one for £200 that will be very average right now, but probably do what you want it to - but you'll need to replace it in a couple of years. OR you could spend £700 and get something slightly fancy and speedy that will probably last you for 5 years.

Some people will always go for the £200 and replace down the line and others will always go for the £700 and replace further down the line.

It's a personal choice.

(I'm not calling Mars "very average" as in my computer comparison - I've not made my opinion yet based on growers i know using them) ... But i'm in the "pay more for longer and initially better performance" category. And when i buy my HS1 it will be for the full retail price (with perhaps the same AFN discounts that everyone else gets if they are still available)

hehe - We get feircy loyal over our lights especially if we saved for a long time for them and are really proud of their performance.

Diss my Light and i'll go nuts!

Wow! I'm out for few hours and all this happend :))). No use argueing anymore cause I've ordered the HS1!! Mars was out of the question from the begining, no offence to all the users, but I can't handle heat at this moment and I bet the HS1 owns Mars in that matter, also I allredy got @400w of LED's so I don't necessarly need more W unless they come with the "same ammount" of performance. I should have probably have mentioned this before but ... I forgot QQ. But thanks for stepping in! Peace!

Next year there will be something better, next month maybe. It never ends. Build a high end pc today, a few months from now it is entry level.

Right, it never stops... And since I am 0 exp I don't wanna rush anything, but I needed smt for summertime. Next year another one, hopefully a better one :))

Now I feel bad for ordering the hs1... Jason > Daniel... Pack redy to go for a week now... Nothing happens, no reply to mails. Guess this will be the one and only gn I'll buy. If GN dosen't like money maybe Budmaster does.

Have you tried calling them to see what's up dota?

There's a telephone number on their site - 01914 475059

I didn't and I won't. They should know how to treat customers. Worked some years in selling business. At the age 18 I had my first trainings. I know how things should work. Unfortunaty...
