Xenforo to Discourse: The Path & The Plan

I am working on templates for specific topics, like grow journals or Cultivators Club related testing.

Pre-loaded templates for product and genetic testing. All you have to do is fill in the blanks (more or less.)
I love your service to others. You all are amazing. !!!!!!!

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges!

So will everyone have to resign up or register or will our current sign and passwords need to be re-entered? Alos will there be a redirect to the correct site?

As of right now; yes you will have to create a new user account for the new software. This is the current instance of Discourse if you'd like to join:

Eventually Autoflower.org will resolve to the Discourse site, not this one (which until we officially shut this down, would still be available as read-only with a URL similar to the above.

Something that really irritates me at the discourse site...I have to scroll miles (and with multiple reloads) to get to anything current or to go back to the top to reply to the thread.

Can we have pages back? Please? It is so much less cumbersome.

One more thing: (chrome browser on android phone) when I try to save a bookmark or put a shortcut on my homepage, it is a link to autoflower.org, not the discourse site...

Use the slider on the right side of the posts. I do like the pages better. But with the slider if you click below it or at the bottom of the "pole" it will go to the end of the thread and the new posts. I am not sure how to find where you left off but the posts are numbered. (if any of us can remember! hah!)

Well, at least I'm not the only one!:face::crying::crying::cheers:

Quick Navigation Methods
  • Use the Timeline Slider (Desktop/Mobile): Click or drag the timeline/progress bar on the right side of the screen. Dragging it to the top jumps to the first post, and dragging it to the bottom jumps to the latest post. -TESTED (and it works)

  • Click the Topic Title (Top): While reading a topic, clicking the topic title in the top navigation bar will instantly jump to the top of the thread. -TESTED (and it works)

  • Use the Progress Bar (Mobile): On smaller screens, tap the bottom progress bar to expand it for easier navigation to the top or bottom. - TESTED (and it works)

  • Click Post Metadata (List View): When in a topic list, clicking the reply count takes you to the top of the topic, while clicking the last reply date takes you to the bottom. -TESTED (and it works, this is when you're viewing the list of topics. If you click the REPLIES column, it takes you to the first post. If you click on the latest activity, it takes you to the most recent post, just like how it works here.)
Keyboard Shortcuts

Press Shift + ? to view all keyboard shortcuts. (this actually works on Desktop, pretty sweet)

  • Shift + #: Jump to the top of the thread. (-TESTED, this actually let me put in a specific post number to jump to.)
  • Home / End: Typical browser keys (Home for top, End for bottom) work well. (-TESTED, they work)

Thanks.
This is going to take some getting used to.

It's easy to remember what page something is on and to go back and forth. ie responding to something posted awhile ago. Sad to let that go.

Best thing at this point is to take time and poke around, get used to things.
