Xenforo to Discourse: The Path & The Plan

Trying to start a journal over there and I can’t see the words I’m typing. Everything I type stays above the cut line unless I drop the keyboard altogether because the screen won’t scroll while keyboard is shown. I’m on an iPad, is this normal? This is what I see as I’m typing

Scroll up to the top of the actual message window. There should be a little button with two arrows pointing inward at each other (which makes the text window smaller.) It might be expanded out. Or, can you scroll up a bit in the window (does the keyboard follow with?)

Discourse text windows on iPads are often cut off or obscured by the on-screen keyboard due to layout bugs with iOS 26+ or issues with fixed-position elements in the browser, particularly when using a smaller editor window. To fix this, try expanding the editor to full-screen mode, using the "floating" keyboard, or ensuring the editor is set to a larger size before typing.
Troubleshooting Steps for Discourse on iPad:
  • Force Full-Screen Mode: Expand the composer window to take up the full screen to prevent it from being pushed off-screen by the keyboard.
  • Use a Floating Keyboard: Pinch inward on the iPad keyboard to make it a smaller "floating" keyboard that you can drag out of the way of the text field.
  • Resize the Editor: If the composer is minimized, try expanding it to a larger size before clicking into the text field, which often resolves positioning issues.
  • Refresh the Page: A quick refresh can sometimes fix layout bugs.
  • Try Alternative Access: Use the Discourse Hub app or a different browser to see if the issue persists.

Hey man I'm home for the rest of the evening; let me know if that doesn't work and we can trouble shoot. I'm going to do a few chores around the house but I'll check back in on this in a few minutes.

Ok thanks man

Ok I’ll reply here if necessary

Try those bulleted options first, let's see if those help any.

Can you try zooming out in the browser itself by 10 or 20% to see if you can at least see the top of the window?

Any luck brother? There's also an app that might work better than loading it via the browser. I cannot for the life of me tell you how/when/where I downloaded it from; it may have self downloaded when I was viewing it on my phone; I don't know.
