I am close to harvest on my first ever grow. 4x4x7 tent with a 400 watt hps. I used roots organic soil with a little lime added. I also used roots organic grow and bloom. Yellow leaves have been a problem for most of the grow. I added calmag but it didn't seem to help. By the way these are sour diesel autos. The plants are budding well and put on weight almost daily. I have also been giving them a pk boost since they started flowering. Not that bad for a first grow but I would like to figure out the yellow leave thing before starting my next grow. That one is going to be GDP autos. Any help would be great. Peace

Welcome to AFN. Drop by the Introductions forum and post up so we can all get to know you.

Yellowing leaves can be a nutrient deficiency but more times than not it's related to your soil pH. Do you have a pH meter and have you been adjusting the pH of your feeds and checking the pH of your run off? That would be the first thing to check. If your pH is off it can cause what is called nutrient lockout. This happens when the pH is out of range and the plant is unable to properly uptake the nutrients. The result is yellowing leaves. Ideally you want your soil pH to be right around 6.4, give or take .1. Take a look at this chart and you can see where the various nutrients are available to the plant. Also, post up a couple of pictures of the whole plants, taken in natural light so we can see the true colors.

Thanks for the reply Muddy. When I first started out I was using distilled water. Only in the last couple of weeks have I been adjusting the ph. I would think that would explain the yellow leaves. I did do a flush a week ago but it is so close to the end I think that I will just get what I get. I just want to be sure and get things right for my next grow. Peace

You're very welcome. If you want to continue using distilled water, make sure to get a cal/mag supplement. The distilling process removes the minerals from the water so a cal/mag supplement is needed to replace them. Add enough to your base water to bring it up about 100 - 125 ppm before adding your nutrients. Cal/mag deficiencies are common with autos around 5-6 weeks old, especially when feed using distilled or RO water.
