Mephisto Genetics Yield

If I had to put in my $.02 I'd say that AvT is pure quality and is also a great strain for quantity. Mephisto tested it at 25% THC so the quality is there and they can get huge. Great strain to always have in your garden and while mixing up the others to try them out.

Pot size and medium play a huge role in yield, along with environmental factors and grower skill. I've had my best yields in coco fed with salts. My best smoke has come from organic soil, but the yield suffers. I think any of those strains can yield 4 oz if done right.

Excellent post, however to get 4+ oz from a 4AM Would be more difficult. Pot size will effect plant size in most strains. I would not attempt some strains in super small pots, some flourish and yield amazing in small pots, if growing in Coco. Try the same strain in same sized small pot with any other medium and the plant will not flourish like it does in Coco. And by small, I mean 1gal or less.

Out of the ones you mention and from personal experience: I've only grown out skywalker, which was in soil. She got medium to tall, but I think I only pulled around 2 zips from her. This was before I learned more about reading my plants and what they need according to ph and nutrients. A double grape I tried, turned out to be a mutant runt and got pulled, but I'll try her again in the near future. Ive heard that hubba can get pretty big and read a journal where someone pulled an elbow from her, but I wouldn't expect to get that. I have a couple beans of her and have been curious to find out myself. I am currently doing an AvT right now and will see how she will turn out. I've just now been able to achieve 3-4 oz. after a couple years of trial and error, and moving on to hydro. I once had a personal best of 9.5 oz, which was a surprise but also alot of work to tend to.

Overall, I agree with everyone else on here. Don't set yourself up expecting to yield more than what you think you're gonna get, because you'll probably disappoint yourself everytime. I know it kinda sucks when you see your yield shrink when it dries but that's the way she goes.. good luck man.

Thanks to all that have taken the time to reply. I appreciate the warnings and will adjust my expectations.

I'm sure this doesn't mean very much but I'm an expert photo period grower. Been at it on and off for 20 years. I'm very versed at reading plants and diagnosing deficiencies. Generally I haven't run into deficiencies or toxicity because I run a moderate course and try not to under do or over do any one thing. Im also a microbe grower and rely heavily on beneficial bacteria and fungus. That said, I've never grown an auto. I have a feeling I'm going to gain some training on this adventure. Which is cool. What I do see is a huge advantage in plant turn with autos and when balanced with proper yield it would make an unstoppable combination.

Response to others:

Plant count is important because I can't go over 12.

I saw that post on GGG4. Thanks for letting me know it's similar to 4AM. Will avoid her.

Which one is AVT?

I'm going auto and not looking back. I'm determined to make this work for me. The reason is, in medical states with plant count limits, you can't safely run a cloner bucket. Recently learned that lesson the hard way. So autos for life for me.

Thanks

Tom

AvT is short for alien versus triangle. I believe one is a special pheno as well.
