Hey guys, I am 47 days into my grow(6 days in to flowering) with everything going great so far. I fed yesterday and went in to check on them today and noticed these new leaves with splits in between the veins. The plants are otherwise very healthy. I am growing two different strains, three White Widow and three Strawberry Cough. I haven't noticed any of the leaves on the SC affected but two of the WW are showing these. It is not covered up, just two leaves on two different plants. These are very young leaves at the top of the plant, I don't see any problems on the lower branches. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My grow details:
3 DP WW
3 DP SC
5 gallon smart pots w/ promix hp
tap water aerated with stone and ph'ed to 6.3 with runoff at 6.3
gh flora nutes
A/C feeding tent at 74F
no signs of insects at all
no signs of deficiencies at all

Thats a tough one.I would watch them close and see if it continues, than let us know.

maybe the blanket your wife threw over them was carrying some pests. anything visible on the bottom of your leaves? looks like someone is gnawing on them.

I agree, that looks like possible insect damage. Check the underside of the leaves with a magnifying glass.

I will pull out the scope this afternoon and take some pics of the underside in natural light. Thanks guys.

I don't know their name but,I had damage like that from a tiny white fly that invaded my wifes african violets first then migrated to my grow....we used Neem oil to disrupt the bugs' breeding cycle.....in 2 weeks the windowsills were covered in thousands of tiny dead bugs....Neem doesn't hurt your plants either...

So, here are the latest pics. I have searched all the plants up one side and down the other and don't see any pests. Not saying they aren't there but I can't find any. With that being said, I am thinking this is some kind of genetic deformity. Tell me what you think, I have no idea here but these leaves look strange to me. I also pulled out my 200x scope and went through the leaves and stems of the affected plants and didn't see anything strange. No signs of insects and no signs of any feces left behind from insects.

I've never seem any genetic mutation that looked like that. I'm still thinking it's an insect. Anything flying around the grow area? You may want to pick up some Neem oil and treat them as a preventative. Not hard or expensive and if it is an insect, that should take care of them. Big box stores or local nurseries should carry it.

I actually have this issue from time to time. I don't know why but I notice it after a heavy feed. I don't have bugs, never have (yet). It could also be attributed to leaves sweating and stuff being crammed together (for my set up). It's a real guessing game though cause I haven't seen a lot of others bring this up

Dude, I was wondering if the sweating may have been causing that. You may have hit the nail on the head. My tent is packed right now and they have been sweating a pretty good bit. I rearranged my AC duct last night to try and get more air blowing across the tops in order to reduce it some. I put my hygrometer in there yesterday and notice it was up close to 60 so I started trying to rearrange things trying to fix that before they start blooming, I wasn't worried much about it up until the bloom cycle.

Is there anything you do to help them with sweating? I didn't have this problem with my last grow but I only had two plants and there was plenty of airflow in between them. Now I have 6 in a 4x4 area. I put an extra fan in last night, I may go buy another couple today on the way home from work.

Thanks man.
