Live Stoner Chat Your Top Three Science Fiction Movies

I watched "Battle Beyond the Stars" like a zillion times as a kid, so it still has a spot on my list in the "cheesy nostalgic" category (along with the original Battlestar Galactica series).

Others in that category would also include "Logan's Run", "Buck Rodgers", and of course the wonderfully scored by Queen classic, "Flash Gordon".

In the more serious categories, though, I'd have to go with "Tron: Legacy", "Serenity", and "Titan: AE" as three of the top of my head. So many good ones to choose from it's hard to say.

I was trying to remember Logan's run! It was the first movie to use Holographic projection!

phil the alien (SF comedy)

Reminded me of another that should have made my list: Paul (must see if you're a Simon Pegg/Nick Frost duo fan)

Speaking of nostalgia, "The Stainless Steel Rat is Born" and "The Stainless Steel Rat for President" (or something like that) were two books that I used to re-read often. So seeing the avatar was a nice blast from the past.

bad mojo (SF comedy)

If we're talking comedy, I've got to give a shout out to Galaxy Quest!

One problem with listing SF movies is the definition. Do you count Repo Man? Pi? Memento? I think of all of these as SF, but I know many don't.

Thought of one more. No stoner frequented forum would be complete without "Heavy Metal" at least getting an honorable mention. :smoke:

Ye, love those steel rat books, had a huge effect on me Ozone.

Oh ye heavy metal, and Pi !

Blade Runner
Fifth Element
Total Recall
and the ones my wife absolute hates cause I watch them every time they're on.....Back To the Future. Not quite sci-fi but there is something about them

My favorites are post-apocalyptic movies. One reason why I played Fallout for 100's of hours.
