Getting started with Whamband

I'm short on cash right now, and dug out a pack of Hazeman testers from years ago that I was recently gifted by someone who knows how much I love Headband. It's labeled as White Aloha x Headband/Mikado.

I'm not sure where this will go, but at minimum it's a seed run for future pheno-hunting. I currently have only one tent, with two clones that should be flipped in a couple of weeks. So I may flip these before they're old enough and not make clones, or may clone all the females in hopes I get lucky. Hopefully I'll have a place to put clones, because I might actually find something in the F1 generation.

I searched online extensively and am unable to find a single reference to the cross. So I'm just going to call it "Whamband." These may be the last seeds of this cross in existence!

I planted three seeds and two survived. So I soaked the last two in a strong coconut milk solution overnight and they're both showing tails. The orange pots are the latest batch.

This will be a living soil grow, and the soil is homemade.

I'm trying to advance the state of my personal art, and create grow logs to help other people have it easier than I did.

I haven't been growing that long but I'm blogging my journey anyway. I'll try anything, and anything I try I'm just going to put out there. So you can take anything I say with a grain or two of salt.

But I'm learning. A lot. Learn with me.

Good luck @Rasterman :peace: :pass:
I'm already curious about soaking in coconut milk. Does that help with the germination or when they go into the soil?
Thanks @RosaB!

I used coconut milk once on seeds that had a low germination rate and the germ rate improved. It has enzymes, sugars and hormones needed by a growing coconut seed and the thought is that it should provide those things for cannabis too. So now if I have it I use it whenever I soak.

I also water it in for a growth boost once in awhile. I don't know if that actually works but believe it does...

I use horticultural freeze-dried coconut milk like they have at Buildasoil. Occasionally I buy the cheaper stuff for humans on Amazon if I'm short cash.

For watering and foliar I mix about a teaspoon per gallon. For soaking seeds I put about 1/4 teaspoon per cup.
