Completed My 1st Grow attempt

OK, today is the first day of my first indoor tent grow EVER... I'm officially exited :smoking:
Northern Lights x Big Buds in a Mars Hydro 60/120/180cm tent with 2x Mars Hydro TS1000 lights.
I have just dumped 9 seeds in a glass of water, hoping to get 6 sprouts from that and later on I'll select the ones doing best in early veg stage.

24 hours later and seeds have now left the soaking and gone into paper towel stage for the next 24 hours.
All seeds were still floating instead of having sunk to the bottom but all but one or two have opened a bit, some a little more than others but a good sign I hope

Perlite getting delivered this morning so these babies will be going into the Coco/Perlite this afternoon :420:

Phew, bit of work mixing 50L Coco with 20L Perlite.
All 9 seeds I had started sprouted so I did all six of the 3 gallon canvas pots and 3 small ones I found in the garage.
Still being a bit confused about watering in this babystage I gave the canvas pots 1L in the middle of the pots and put the seeds in with the plastic cups over them for humidity, last 3 seeds went into the small pots and they actually had a bit of run through giving them only 250ml each.

Well.. No peek-a-boo from the babies just yet... I guess it takes just a tiny bit more than 24 hours

Can relate to that, used 20l of each and to rinse and dry then was a pain in the ass, glad I found a post with a tip to use a pillow case to dry them out

I went with the lazy option and got bags of the Canna Coco Pro+ that doesn't need washing first, it was just one more thing to not worry about and it wasn't overly expensive, 15 Euro per 50L bag and I got free delivery because I bought two, Perlite was 7 Euro per 10L bag so 29 Euros total for my first grow mix and I still have the other 50L Coco left.
I didn't wash the Perlite either but there was no dust coming from it so I'm guessing that it was prewashed as well

Small update, but exciting (well, to me it is)
Got up this morning and 5 out of the 9 popped seeds are now seedlings, that's in 42 hours from going from paper towel into the Coco they have stuck their little baby heads up in the ''sunlight''

Despite being only 5mm tall the two best looking ones already have tiny 2nd pair of leaves.

Niiice, I’m on the lazy side as well:biggrin: but since I went with soil that already had both in it I thought I didn’t need to get a full 50l of coco and bought 2 block chunks of it but damn I was wrong:doh: not for the quantity but for the labor, lesson learned!! By the way witch country r u from m8?

I'm in Ireland which is cold and damp, one of the reasons I went for Coco over soil, I was getting the impression that it would be easier to control mould/fungus/pest that way... Obviously nutrients is a bit of a challenge in itself then but I thought of it as the lesser of two evils and good learning.

Love your country m8, I’m Portuguese but worked as an IOS/ITunes adviser for the UK and Ireland for a couple of years and I really miss those days:cheers:!!
My decision with soil was just so I can have a more spaced watering for this 1st grow, have around 25l left from my light mix soil so for the next grow at least half of the pots will be with coco/perlite/humus and I’ll make the comparison.

Rock on

Earlier when I checked and watered I could now see all 9 above ground (or above Coco I guess)
AC Infinity S6 Cloudline Fan also arrived so it will be installed soon as well.

My Canna Start arrived this morning so the pots/plants got their first proper run off watering and I did all the ec/ph/ppm measuring on what went in and also on what came out of one of the bigger 3 gallon canvas pots, it's tedious work but I'll find a routine to make it easier for myself as the grow continues.
Measured numbers probably don't mean much after this first bigger run off watering, but I took notes to compare with future numbers.

Quick decision made to deal with run off and keeping the tent tidy plus saving a load of time every watering, I'm not lazy... It is an investment in convenience

A little grow has happened despite me messing with water, PH and Nutes, hopefully they will keep going
