The Cyclotron - Phase I - Reanimation

So I've been on a break from growing for about 10 years and I've decided to start again. Hopefully this will be fun to watch because I grew photoperiod only before and things have changed a bit since then. Previously I grew in a medium sized tent with a 450w HPS using soil and liquid nutrients. I liked photoperiod because autoflower was still relatively new and hadn't become as competitive with photoperiod in terms of potency and yield as it has now. Here's how the new grow will work.

I'll be staying mostly in my comfort zone as far as media, techniques, etc. since autoflower is a bit out of my comfort zone in the first place. But I'll still be trying a few new things. This will be a soil grow in FoxFarm Ocean Forest. I always had great results with that and FF's original nutrient trio (Grow Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom), so we'll go with that until I shake off the cobwebs and feel more adventurous. I did decide to get the entire dirty dozen line (all of the bushmaster supplements and the soluble trio) just for the hell of it. I'll personally judge if strictly adhering to FF's recommended feeding schedule really makes a difference or if there's a certain amount of hype to it.

The room will be a small closet with a growing space of about 22''x44''x70''. This won't be a permanent home. Eventually I'll be moving them all into a tent, but that's still further down the line. This is going to be a SoG setup starting 2-4 new plants every 3 weeks until the space is at capacity with 8-10. From there, every harvest will cycle in the same amount of new seeds. Repeat forever or until I feel like I have enough weed for a while.

Instead of HID, I'll be switching to LED. They were emerging as pretty great when I fell off and now they seem to be every bit as good for what I need. I've be using a single 110w full spectrum panel that really hurt my eyes the first time I turned it on. This light will be running 24 hours a day.

Seeds seem to be at a premium right now, but I did manage to get my hands on some Sour Raspberry Kush seeds courtesy of Wicked Pissah. They're not feminized, so I guess we'll have to just keep our fingers crossed here. 2-3 females is what I'm hoping for, so I think I can get that out of 5 seeds.

DAY 0

Waiting for my grow stuff to come in the mail like

Everything's finally here and that means it's time to germ. I used to use the paper towel method, but I'm gonna give root riot and Great White a try. I've heard nothing but positive feedback about it, so I'm giving it a shot. I've heard some people say to apply a little directly to the top of the seed, I've heard others say mix it at 1/2 tsp per gallon of water and soak the cubes in that. I tried both. Hopefully this works out well.

I don't have a warm router, but it's nice and warm in the grow room, so maybe I'll keep them there.

Not much more I can do for now. Hopefully I see something peeking out soon. Stay tuned. There's probably a lot I'm forgetting. This should be entertaining.
