Going to follow @Corum59 advice and put h2o2 in my puck hydration water next time. Never happened before. Must be the jiffy’s!
Or just do the simple paper towel method then direct to soil . I had problems in the past with sponges and jiffy,
 
yeah that should be fine... you can also use boiling water, the jiffies absorb that much faster. and it should also murder any spores.
I used to wet them with hot water, then a couple of minutes in the microwave. But still lately this wouldn't kill off all the spores

:yeahthat: And honestly don't even need the paper towel 3-5hr soak then direct to media. Those jiffy pellets can go extremely acidic





Another way to kill the spores off is not keep the pellet so moist
