Hello all, this will review my experience ordering seeds from Seedsman.
To start, their selection of seeds is huge, and pretty much speaks for itself. There are few outfits out there that can match the comprehensive list of breeders and strains included. And the website is easy and effective to search. Anyone interested in Seedsman probably knows about all this, so nuff said.
The guts of this review relate to service. I have now ordered from Seedsman twice, the first time a few years back, the second several weeks ago. The first order went flawlessly, the seeds arrived promptly, well packed, and germination was as good as any other source that I have experience with, including my own seeds.
My second order is what has persuaded me to do this review. The seeds sadly seem to have either just disappeared in the mail, or been confiscated by customs, there is no way to know at this point. The order was ~$200, so disappearance was dissappointing. It shut down my grow this winter due to scheduling limits.
The key is that when the shipment was apparently missing, Seedsman was near perfect in corresponding with me about it, and once the seeds had not shown up in (as I recall) 35 business days, they promptly provided a refund. Replacment seeds were also possible, but since I can't grow them now, I opted for a refund. I had paid ~$11 for shipping insurance, which in retrospect, seems like a reasonable
When I did not see the refund in my credit card records, I emailed back and forth a few times to ask what was up, and Seedsman's correspondence at that point was perfect. While we sorted things out, their attention to my situation could not have been more supportive, many of the helpful emails were not even in direct answer to my email, they were additional information that Seedsman correctly thought might help.
Eventually I discovered to my surprise that the refund was processed on Nov. 20, and had appeared in my credit card records on the same date. I had no idea that international credit card processing could be that fast. So, the delay in refund, or at least appearances of a delay were all about my not digging deeply enough initially. Seedsman had more or less instantly issued the refund as soon as my claim was passed to the financial people, and it was in my credit card account very shortly thereafter.
I have never had better service from from any seed supplier and I have rarely experienced this sort of care and service from other commercial suppliers. If Seedsman has what you are looking for, IMO, they are an excellent choice.
