New Grower 1st time CFL Automazar Microgrow diary

Hello to you all!

I am a casual marijuana user and with my father suffering from ALS I decided to kill two birds with one stone and start my own microgrowery. I will describe everything I've prepared so far and what my plans are and I would appreciate any experienced people out there to give insight and help in any way as it is my first time.

• Grow space: 49x38x89cm; 1,63x1,26x3'; old table I rebuild, front is made from cardboard, all of the inside is covered with reflective material
• Lighting: 4x23w 6500K CFL for veg; 4x23w 2700K CFL for flower; considering ading 5th for each stage - should I add same spectrum or can it benefit from 4 being 6500K and 1 being 2700K or is it better if they are all same?
• Ventilation: 120mm PC fan intake at the bottom; 120mm PC fan outtake at the top; no filter - I'm going to wait for the odor tokick in and then decide if I need to filter it
• Soil: so far using my own compost soil which should be having all nutrients needed
• Nutrients: haven't bought any yet as I've read autoflowers shouldn't be nuted much until flowering
• Strain: planted 1x regular Power-poison mainly to test the setup and germination, then 3x Automazar seeds directly into soil from local seller with great reviews from buyers, planning on having 2 plants in the box
• Pots: little 0,4 or so pots for seedling stage, planning on moving the plants into their final pots as soon as possible, as I've read autoflowering strains shouldn't be moved at all if possible
• Water: I'm using regular tap water, always letting it stand still for 24 hours before watering to get rid of chlorine etc.

That's it for now. First signs of automazar seedling are breaking out of the ground right now, power-poison is already couple days old but I will move it out once I figure what to do with it. I will appreciate any advice you might have for me. I will be adding photos throughout the whole process. Right now I'll just post pictures of my setup so far.

Looks like you may not have enough height to raise your lights once they start stretching. What is the max distance from bulb to soil? Heat can always be a problem in smaller spaces.

I am with Heavily on this, you are going to have to get very familiar with LSTing especially with the automazars. It looks like you only have about 6 inches or so to the top of the box. If that were my setup I would turn the bulbs horizontally in order to maximize your vertical space. Other than that I think you have a nice little micro grow their. I would defintely check out some other CFL grows here on AFN to see what you might expect yield wise, one of the things that I see happen a lot of times with folks who use CFL's for their first grow is that their expectations for yield is a little high. With that setup if everything goes correctly I would say you might be able to get 20 grams dry or so(that is just a guess it may be more) Hope this helps, sending super grow Karma your way!

Hello and thank you for the answers! The vents I'm using are keeping the temp at 28C/82F mostly so that should be fine right? Also the airflow seems more than sufficient. About the height now. I'm planning on LST'ing a lot as I know I have little space. But maybe u misunderstood. I have about 34,5 inches vertically total. Once the plants start to get bigger I will move the bulbs to vertical position (about 2,3 inches) and move them to bigger pots (5,4 inches). That should leave me about 26,8 inches of vertical space between the bulbs and the top of the pots which I know is not much but from what I've read the automazar gets mostly 27-31 inches high so with applying some LST I should be fine. Or am I wrong? Also I'm not expecting high yields since its my first try and its so tiny. I was hoping for 50 maybe but anything more than the energy bill worth of street buds (1/8oz maybe?) will make me happy at the end really.
