1st time garden grow question

This is my first grow. Planted in the ground in my garden. As I face the dilemma of when to harvest, I’m wondering if the process after chopping includes washing the bugs/dirt out of the buds? I really appreciate any direction as I’m clueless but learning!
Also, anyone have thoughts on how close this WW is to harvest?

mmm, kinda hard to tell, but she def lookz fairly milky, so i'd say -> tester bud for the win! ppp

well, hold on there bucky, lol me didn't realize she'z jus 60d old, so it'z probly a bit soon still but, either way -> it'z all about the trichz! and fwiw, when i snip a tester bud, i jus set it on me stereo or modem box w/a lil airflow overnite, mebbe 24h ppp
