I honestly cant tell which one had the head break off. People say you cant top auto's, but im betting that one is going to respond nicely in hydro. Should notice a crap load of bushing from topped one. looking good
The one that had the top snapped off was the one on the right. I got it taped back on straight away. I seems to have recovered quite well, although the main top is still quite short compared to the rest of the plant. I removed the tape a few days ago and the break was all healed nicely..
Well I got the scrog mesh in place, unfortunately I was quite late in doing so, so there was a lot of bending a coaxing required.
I hope they recover ok. I think it will look a lot healthier in the next fet days!
hi Guys. Thanks for dropping by. yes tony I wanted to try a larger single res as a posed too a multiple circulating reservoir. the idea being that it would be easier to manage and take less space. In my last grow, the 20 litre bucked was never really holding more than about 12 litres of water, as more would have been soaking the net pot. from what I understand, that is a bad idea. this 50 litre container with 2 net pots fitted is holding about 21 litres now with a gap of about 3cm to the bottom of the net pots. I might be able to fill it to 24 litres if required later in the grow.
Hi Groffuwiwi. No I am not using a pump. I have the reservoir standing about 45cm in the air on a stand. The lid of the res is fixed in place. When I need to do a change, I drain the res with a tap I have fitted to the front. It is fitted in the same way as the level indicator, (rubber grommet and pushed in tap) then slide out the res support shelf. The root ball / netpots/ res lid, stay in place as fixed from the top. replace my res tank, slide in the shelf in under it and fill the reservoir from a front opening I fabricated, covered with a light shield.
I will try to get some pictures up this weekend to show in more detail..
So far the only downside I can see is that I will loose the height clearance due to the reservoir being mounted higher. this is another reason for me trying a scrog. We shall see if it works out lol
Gahh now u made me wana go sneaking around in supermarkets for giant buckets lol
Every time i go shop i now look on how i can make a DWC hempybucket.
Need to find one that would exactly fill up my dr40 hehe
Good idea u got, i will steal it for next gro :] carma cameleonts walking ur way
Thanks foe stopping by Kaellan420swe, I read quite a few grow diaries before I tried this build and am very aware there probably will be a few draw backs. One of which I am seeing already. The plant on the left is definitely further ahead in it's bloom stage. Even so, I am keeping them well dosed on grow nutes with a high N ratio to let the right hand side plant grow itself out. It look's a lot more immature, but has soooo many bud nodes on it. Its crazy. Also the left hand side plant has much darker leaves.
Some will hate this, some don't. I have been very aggressive with my leaf tucking and removal. Basically, if it's shading a bud site. IT GOES...
Notice the raised reservoir. This enables a full reservoir removal, clean or replacement. I choose to replace as I am updating my res tank as I go. Mk1 has been changed for Mk2 now. I think it will be an improvement. I have changed the way the air it supplied and where it is pumped.
Any way. here are some pictures from where they are now. I just wish I had the screen ready about 3 weeks ago.
Here is a picture of the whole setup from ground level. The shelf under the reservoir can be removed for res changes.
This is the canopy in total. The plant on the left side seems much further along in it's bloom tanzient state!
front left hand corner. I hope it makes it to the corner!
Mainly left side plant.
This is the plant on the right hand side of the res and the top picture. From the start it has been the fussiest with regards to keeping happy with nutrients. But it is still stretching like a mother (lol)
