Grow Mediums 2000 Watt Perpetual Hydroponic AutoFlower ScrOG

Hey man, make sure you rinse your hydroton like a million times with fresh water...it will blast your pH through the roof in hydro (hence why I like it as mulch with super soil). I was pH'ing twice a day in my GH PowerGrower (recirc top drip) and it still was always out of whack. I cleaned the whole thing out, soaked the pebbles in dist. water, refilled the res and it was practically perfect.

Yeah man, I did rinse the hell out of em, and soaked em in ph 5.5 water for 6 hours. It's not as drastic as it could be, but I've still got a ton of hydroton left that I can soak for a good 24 hours, rinse, and soak again if I need to.
Hope I don't, but good looking out. Glad I got more than I needed.

Update:

Day- 2

PH- 5.5-6.0
EC- 0.4

Fuck Hydroton. PH has risen like crazy no matter how far down I take it. Swapped out the hydroton back to the River Rock again. Did a res change, and cleaned the entire system. PH has gotten better. Don't fix what isn't broke. I should have just stuck with the rock in the first place. So now I'm two days in and still getting PH dialed in, lol. Next time I'll run the system a few days before putting anything in. Would have this time, but my damn ph meter broke and has left me scrambling to make up for it. Things should level out now and be a lot smoother from here on out.

Sorry for the shitty pics, my cams f'd up.

sorry about the ph issues bro.

glad you got it sorted it out tho.

"if it aint broke -- dont fix it" -- seems too easy huh? lol.

goodluck my friend!

ph stabilizing karma + good growing your way.

Hey bro, i've this very day been warned not to use Hydroton with my new Autopot system, because of shit ph issues. Good to see you binned it. The set up is looking great by the way, to say i'm a jealous is an under statement.

You only have yourself to thank for the show on my ScrOG. No Taviddude ScrOG=No Hazy ScrOG. so no need to rep sir. you've hit me hard enough already. :peace:

I'm late to the party as usual, but it looks like there's still a lot of treats left. Outrageous setup for sure...can't wait to see how it works out.

Sub'd!

Right on Guys.

Everything is coming along ok in the tent. Still waiting on the last light, but that's really a non issue right now. I've got plenty of light power for the seedlings.
I have to admit, I'm finding out more and more what a rough start I got off to due to that shitty FU&*(#G $200.00 ph meter that shit out on me as I cracked the seeds.
12 of 14 will end up doing just fine, but there are two that for some reason took it pretty hard. They'll make it to harvest, but they look like shit right now.
I'll probably use them in my colloidal silver experiments.
I'll never start a grow again without checking my meter, and having my system up, running, and holding PH.
F*&K Hydroton. I don't know how people can run that shit and not have PH problems. I can see DWC where it doesn't tough the nutrient solution, but that shit brought my PH over 8. Swapped it back out with the River Rock, cleaned the system, did a res change and she's holding a steady right around 5.8.

So yeah, I got off to a rough start this time around, but hopefully that was the last of it, and I can still pull the goods in the end.
Peace Fam.
Tav.

Your setup looks killer Tavidude ph issues SUCK!!I gotta ask as i'm startin my journey into the water world, isn't ph between 5.5-6.0 pretty good 5.8 being optimum? I ask as right now i'm just toyin with one bucket as an experiment and i started with river rock as my hydroton hadn't got here yet, when it came i gave it a rinse and replaced the river rock with it-my ph is runnin 5.9. I have the bottom of the netpots 1" under water as i've seen seymore-buds do in his runs. I know your runnin a different setup and was just wondering-sorry to jack your thread!
