Hey 420ing, I just looked through your grow and let me just say it's looking great, your plant is healthy and lush, look at all that undergrowth and leathery leaves - beautiful. The spotting definitely looks like cal-mag to me, especially since on the leaves affected there is a slight chlorosis (veins darker than the rest of the leaf), so continue the cal-mag treatment and foliar is a good option.
My two cents regarding the seedling you lost in the beginning - the symptoms you describe perfectly damping off - it's a fungal disease the seedlings are prone to when overwatered, so maybe in the future you could make sure the root cubes are less wet and just moist enough, to avoid this
I'm glad to see you managed to fit the carbon filter in the cabinet although it's a tight fit - it will pay off by giving you a peace of mind when flowering starts. Sound-proofing the fan is a good idea (I wish I had enough DIY skills do attempt it unfortunately I'm utterly useless), I have heard that potential problems depend on the type of the fan - mixed-flow fans are self-cooling hence should not overheat, whereas centrifugal ones might pose more of a challenge. Then again I suppose it depends on the usage you're getting out of your fan - in such a small cabinet and under LED I'm assuming you don't plan on keeping it on full all the time so maybe you are going to be ok? Let us know
Either way all the best and also Happy New Year to you! :Ohmmm.......:
Hey thanks for the positive feedback and reassurance with the cal/mag thing! I definetly love this plant it's the best one i've ever had and the biggest by far! I had thought about the possability of dampning off being the cause of my last seeds demise. I had accidently knocked it out of the soil when it was young with my finger the soil was very very loose so it just popped out very easily there was no roots damaged or anything the stem might have been bent a little at the time it happend but i couldn't even see any sign of that. I think i must have injured/shocked it enough to weaken it to the point something got inside it and killed it off. Coincidently i was looking at a thread on dampning off a few days ago maybe a week actualy and it pretty much reminded me of exactly what happened to my seedling. I reckon if i hadn't knocked it over it would have been fine but i definetly do agree with the dampning off diagnoses i just think the stress at that early stage in the game allowed it to take hold.
About the fan speed. I plan on buying a speed controller for it. I read up on it and i can see that using a dimmer switch is a no-no so i found a place selling the right ones for the job. I think it's like 65-70 watts and the speed controller im planing to buy can support any fan between 20 watts and 200 watts so im well within that range. If i can get it running at the lowest speed on the dial then thats going to be significantly less airflow and should help my temps stay within proper range. Even 50% power should be good enough i reckon to keep the temps dipping down as low.
16.5c at night is getting too close to the stage where the roots ability to take up nutirents at night time will be limited and also the big fluctuation in the daytime and nighttime temp can cause stretching and i dont want that to happen so i plan on getting the speed controller ASAP.
I think i can already see the benefit of the extra airflow though! I have my webcam in the closet so i can moniter the growth and i see the leaves happily dancing away with the fresh air flowing through the leafs from the bottom of the closet and my humidity is now within the correct range for flowering! I plan on setting up a cam in there so that my next grow is fully documented visually at least from the start to finish and make a timelapse out of it! It's something i've always wanted to do. I am fascinated with plant growth there's something about it that gives me an inner peace inside lol.
I will take some more pictures of my baby tomorrow but for now i will leave you with this pic from my webcam that i am in love with lol.

Oh another thing i love about this carbon filter........my room smells sooooo fresh!!!!! lol.
Peace!
