New Grower 2nd round new genetics

Germination complete
  • Both babies are upright and open. Orange sherbet has huge cotyledons so I had to help her out of her helmet a little. I'm gonna say germination is a success.

  • I guess I've been busy with the big girls this week and forgot to update these. The wedding cheesecake is taking off now, looking pretty healthy so far. I think she's gonna be a big girl when she's all growed up. I dunno what I did to offend the orange sherbet but she doesn't seem my biggest fan. First set of leaves looked bad, second set looked better, third set is awful as you can see but the newest set looks pretty green and healthy. I'm gonna let her ride for now. They're both on 1.25ml/l Bloom A/B once a day, with a little calmag and floranectar.

  • These gals are moving along now, look like some stretchy happening on the wedding cheesecake. Im trying not to defoliate her yet just tucking them giant leaves.

I still can't quite believe orange sherbet pulled through, she looked so bad at first. It may be for the best that she didn't get her full potential anyway, I was pretty worried about height on her getting crazy. I'll be real curious to see how she will do after all the trauma.

  • Ladies are in the big tent now. Wedding cheesecake looks like she's just about finished stretching, topping seemed to have kept her height in check but we will see. I've super cropped the bejeezus out of orange sherbet trying to get some of the side branches to grow out. I think she's just getting into the stretch and I'm still a lil afraid of her getting tall even though she's been behind. OS has been a weird one. She doesnt like nutes, I think that may have been some of her initial issues, just fried her as a baby. Half her leaves show slight signs of N toxicity but she's not burned on the tips, just pointing down. I dunno, they're both on bloom nutes now.

  • The ladies are doing pretty good so far. Flower is in full swing with wedding cheesecake. Lots of buds forming and some frost showing up already, not much smell yet. Im really liking the canopy after topping and trellis, will probably use those techniques again in the future. She's getting a little big bud in her water now with the bloom and calmag.

The orange sherbet is about done stretching and settling into flower. It's a mess in her tiny tent but I've been super cropping her branches to get her shaped for the space. I unfortunately did have to super crop the main stem too, getting too close to the light. She is a champ though and has taken all the abuse I've thrown at her in stride. She already smells awesome, sweet dank orange popsicles. Still just on bloom and calmag. Ive got a few brown spots showing up on the upper fans so Ive got something going on. Im suspecting excess N is locking out something else. Calmag is the biggest N input she's getting so I may drop that for a day or two and see how she goes. Not bad enough to lose sleep over yet.

  • Well I ain't gonna get the wedding cheesecake done in 63 days like fastbuds suggests but she is fattening up nicely and should be done in a couple weeks which is cool by me. Getting tip burn so I'm backing off the nutrients, just feeding her bloom base again. She smells soooo good now. Like white sugar frosting and tart fruits with hints of skunk. I've been super impressed with this lady, no fussiness, no weirdness, just solid hearty growth. Already looking like a strain I'll run again soon.

Oh and the orange sherbet. The complete opposite. She does what she wants, wants no nutrients but likes calmag, grows into the light despite repeated super cropping, shows toxicity and deficiencies regardless what I feed her but plows along. But she makes up for it with her aroma. A stem rub makes your hands smell like you've been zesting oranges in a field of dank weed all day. Pungent, sour, and delicious. She seems to be flowering pretty quickly but something tells me she's not in any hurry to finish. I guess we will see.

  • Ah we're getting there. The ladies are mostly behaving themselves. Nobody really wants my delicious nutrients anymore, not doing too much drinking at all so we're in the home stretch. Both stacking up nicely, leaves starting to fade out in places.

Wedding Cheesecake has very interesting bud structure, towers of calyx poking out, be interesting to see what they look like when she's all done. She's picking up some purple hues as she fades out, smell is shifting away from fruit and more towards vanilla pastry. Got a double headed cola on my most dominant branch, kinda fun.

Orange Sherbet is getting real fat. I thought she was gonna produce a bunch of little popcorn buds but they just keep swelling and are already feeling rock hard dense, gonna be more like golf balls. I'm thinking her yield may not suck as bad as I initially worried it would. Still super orangey but the sour pungent funk is getting loud, carbon filter is struggling to scrub that stench. I think she might even finish before WCC but prolly right about the same time. Little pinkish hues popping up on the most mature calyx, she might throw some color too.

  • Took both girls down at 84 days. Maybe could have gone a couple more days but my old lady was willing to help trim, so I had to take my opportunity. Just did a rough trim this time, buds dried a little faster than I liked with my last two plants that I fully wet trimmed. I also left all my popcorn and larf to dry, last time I fresh froze it for hash making. Gonna compare results with dried and cured trim/buds this time for the hash.

Wedding Cheesecake ended up smelling like skunky putrid rotten fruit with cookie dough and vanilla undertones. Not the densest buds but plenty of them. She has been such a good girl too, no issues, not needy at all, just let her grow. Beautiful purple fade at the end.

Orange Sherbet is fruity pebbles and fuel all the way, and absolutely the hardest, densest buds I've grown yet. Kinda finicky start and absolutely died out at the end but I think the smoke will prove worth the hassle. I suspect she will be my lowest yield so far but with the density of those nugs I might be wrong.
