Lighting 300 watt Blurple to White conversion

It's time to jump in and get my feet wet. I have a few ideas I would like to do for a 100% DIY when the funds allow. Until then I'll convert some blurples with some help from you fine folks.

This thing is filthy! A bunch of dead lady bugs and lots of dust. I cleaned it and the fans, while doing so I realized I don't think I have ever read anything about cleaning our LED's. A clean LED would surely last a lot longer. Up to this point I've just cleaned the glass with Windex. I had the windows to my grow open all summer so I imagine all my lights look like this.

I have two of these panels to convert. They put off an extreme amount of Red/purple light and I hate using them.

This driver is just powering the fans, so I assume this should just stay as is?

We have three of these 60-90v 500ma drivers to work with.

I can't read what the driver says next to efficiency. One thing that's certain is driver efficiency is a direct relation to the wattage capabilities. So if it's 80% efficient and your purposed wattage should be 100w you'll only draw 80.

Those Drivers are perfect as far as voltage goes. You can run 2 citizen clu048-1212's per driver but the amperage is low putting you at only 16w per cob. The benefit in running them so low is the efficiency shy rockets. You would be at 63% efficient.

6 cobs would put you at 96 watts plus the fans and 60 par watts
Compared to the panel now which draws 132 watts and is just above 25 par watts

It says PFC 0.96 Eff 88%
That's a great price to double the par and decrease wattage and heat. Would you recommend the 80 or 90 cri?

Not bad considering the meanwells are 95% I think the 90cri is the best bet. Amazing Amares are 93cri and we both know how well they grow.

I gotta say that if you are only wanting to use the converted light as side lighting then you would be fine with those stock drivers but it you want a main lighting fixture you will need different drivers.

I agree, it's good for one large plant or maybe 2 lights for 3 plants.

Pepe did you order the cobs? I just got done reading the higher cri has a significant loss in lm/w not sure why I never picked that up but they also said its still debatable on which is better. Less of a better light or more of a worse light. Not that it's that drastic but something to consider if you want to get into it.

No I haven't. No money's to do so, I had the hundred to do so but something came up. I've been sick as a dog this week so no paycheck next week, so probably a couple weeks. I thought about deleting this thread last night, but I'll eventually get to order so I didn't. Working to keep the power on today that's how tight things are. I got lots of smoke, but I don't sell from the fear of the feds storm trooping my ass again. I lost my job of 15 years, one of my houses (almost lost this one) and my 40 acres of heaven next to a state park plus about 25k in legal expenses a few years ago. I grow for myself, my sis and my best friend of 40 years who need it more than I do. Fuck the FEDS!
